Farmers in An Hai commune focus on applying high technology in production.

With the goal of developing agriculture in a sustainable direction, recently, An Hai commune (Ninh Phuoc) has implemented the construction of a safe vegetable production area (RAT) in the direction of applying science - technology (KHKT) and high technology (CNC) in production. Thereby, helping farmers increase productivity, product quality and enhance the value of cultivated area.

An Hai is a locality with potential for agricultural development, especially advantageous crops with high economic value, with a total agricultural land area of about 2,098 hectares. However, local agricultural production is still fragmented and small-scale, so people's lives still face many difficulties. Comrade Ho Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of An Hai Commune People's Committee, said: In order to develop local agriculture in a sustainable direction, in the past time, the commune has focused on mobilizing farmers to exploit the potential to develop production, especially advantageous crops with high economic value; re-planning the SV production area to improve productivity, product quality, and increase profits for farmers. At the same time, mobilizing farmers to change production methods from small-scale to concentrated production towards commodities; organizing training courses on SV production processes according to VietGAP and organic standards; implementing water-saving irrigation models, green asparagus growing models.

Visiting the green asparagus field model of Tuan Tu General Service Cooperative, we can see the economic efficiency of applying scientific and technological advances in production. Mr. Hung Ky, Director of the Cooperative, said: Previously, households produced vegetables using traditional methods, with low productivity and unstable income, but since implementing the water-saving irrigation model, the green asparagus growing model according to VietGAP and organic standards has brought high efficiency. Up to now, the Cooperative has developed 65 hectares of green asparagus and applied the water-saving irrigation model, increasing productivity and product quality, and the income of many member households compared to before.

The application of science and technology in SV production in An Hai commune in recent times has brought the commune's agricultural production to develop in a sustainable direction. Up to now, the commune has expanded the water-saving irrigation model to 260 hectares, with 480 households participating; built SV growing areas with 223 households participating. Comrade Ho Thanh Phong added: With the goal of striving to form SV growing areas with a total area of 300 hectares by 2025; build large fields for green asparagus production with an area of 150 hectares, the commune continues to promote farmers to apply scientific and technological advances in production; reorganize and plan SV production areas in the direction of CNC application. At the same time, promote linkages in production and product consumption.

Comrade Dang Nang Tom, Vice Chairman of Ninh Phuoc District People's Committee said: To effectively implement the Project on building SV growing areas in An Hai commune, in the coming time, the district will focus on expanding the area of green asparagus growing in the direction of applying CNC; focusing on guiding farmers to produce according to advanced methods and processes, producing according to VietGAP, organic, digital transformation standards, applying information technology in SV production; supporting farmers, cooperatives and cooperative groups to complete production and business plans; building growing area codes, geographical indications, packaging designs, barcodes; implementing policies to support agricultural production; focusing on investing in infrastructure serving production in SV areas; calling on businesses to invest in CNC agricultural projects and implementing product consumption for farmers. Thereby, contributing to the sustainable development of the district's agriculture.
