Currently, Ms. Thuy Anh is holding more than 22.47 million TCB shares, accounting for nearly 0.64% at Techcombank. If she successfully purchases the registered shares, Ms. Anh will hold more than 104.6 million shares, accounting for more than 2.97%.

If successful, the daughter of tycoon Ho Hung Anh will be in the Top 40 richest people on the Vietnamese stock market despite being only in her early 20s, with an estimated fortune of about 3,500 billion VND, on par with veteran businessmen such as SSI Chairman Nguyen Duy Hung or VPBank Vice Chairman Bui Hai Quan.

The chairman's son spends tens of billions on shopping

Not long ago, Mr. Nguyen Hung Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Construction Development Investment Corporation (DIC Corp) registered to buy 3 million DIG shares to increase his ownership ratio.

The transaction is expected to take place from June 12 to July 11, by order matching/negotiation. After the successful transaction, Mr. Cuong holds nearly 62 million shares, equivalent to 10.16% of charter capital.

Provisionally calculated according to DIG's market price on June 6 at 21,500 VND/share, it is estimated that the Vice Chairman had to spend about 64.5 billion VND.

In addition to the position of Vice Chairman, Mr. Cuong is also the son of Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tuan.

Previously, on March 17, Mr. Cuong successfully bought all 5 million DIG shares.

The chairman's daughter's company only bought 1 million shares.

Although millions of shares were registered for purchase, not all deals were successful. Nam Quan Investment JSC announced that it had purchased 1 million units out of a total registered 20 million Hoang Quan Real Estate shares, equivalent to 5% of the total registered volume, to increase its ownership from 0% to 0.21% of charter capital.

The transaction was conducted from August 2 to August 25. The reason for not purchasing all registered shares was due to not being able to arrange enough financial resources.

Notably, Nam Quan Investment is an organization related to Ms. Truong Nguyen Song Van, Deputy General Director of Hoang Quan Real Estate. Ms. Van is also the daughter of Mr. Truong Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoang Quan Real Estate.

At the 2023 annual shareholders' meeting in April, Mr. Tuan said that by 2024, HQC's stock price will return to par value (VND10,000/share). According to Mr. Tuan, the book value of HQC's stock is currently at VND9,000/share.

The reason for the failure to complete the transaction was given as the partner changing the transaction time.

After the transaction, the number of NVL shares held by Ms. Quynh increased to 24.7 million shares (equivalent to 1.266%).

This is not the first time Mr. Nhon's daughter has failed to buy the registered amount of shares.

Ms. Quynh had purchased less than 50% of the total of more than 44 million NVL shares between February 10 and March 10. The reason for not completing the transaction was similar: "the partner changed the transaction time."
