Thach Xa village makes bamboo dragonflies

The village is located at the foot of Tay Phuong mountain where Tay Phuong pagoda is located in Thach Xa commune, Thach That district. From Hanoi, follow Thang Long Highway for about 25km to the turnoff to Thach That, turn right and continue for another 10km and you will see a sign to Tay Phuong pagoda.

The dragonflies are made of bamboo and beautifully painted. The special thing is that the dragonflies can stand on their beaks. They mainly produce 3 types of dragonflies in 3 sizes: large, medium, small, corresponding to body lengths of 12, 15 and 18cm, priced from 3,000 VND to 10,000 VND/each depending on size. Dragonflies are sold at the souvenir stalls of Tay Phuong Pagoda.

Silver bean farming in Dinh Cong

To get to this craft village, from the center of Hanoi, you travel along the Liberation Road to Dinh Cong Street, then turn right onto the railway. Currently, the number of artisans making silver beans in the traditional way can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Silver bean means pulling melted silver into silver threads and then from these threads turning into flower, leaf, bird and animal shapes attached to jewelry. Main products include: bracelets, lapel pins, rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces, silver souvenir decorations... Products are beaned by hand in the old way.

Chuong conical hat village

The village belongs to Phuong Trung commune, Thanh Oai district, Hanoi.

Chuong village's conical hat market meets 6 times a month, on even days of the month, the 4th, 10th, 14th, 20th, 24th and 30th of the lunar month. The market opens very early, from 6am to around 8am. The market only sells hats and materials for making hats.

Chuong village hats have long been famous for their beauty, durability, and variety of colors and sizes. It is not necessary to go to the market on the right day, you can go to the village on a weekday to see the hat making and buy hats.

Ha Thai lacquer village

The village is located in Duyen Thai commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi.

Ha Thai lacquer painting village is now famous for its paintings and consumer products such as vases, bowls, plates, chopsticks and decorative items for walls, hallways, etc.

Vietnamese lacquer paintings have reached the world level, because they are carefully crafted, aiming for quality, and oriented towards the nature of the Vietnamese countryside.

Chang Son fan village

This famous fan making village is located in Thach That district, Hanoi.

Chang Son fans have been around for 200 years. In the 19th century, Chang Son fans were brought to Paris by the French for exhibition. Entering the renovation period, out of nearly 10,000 people in Chang Son commune, there were 3,000 people making fans, producing nearly a hundred thousand of all kinds of fans every day: paper fans, bamboo fans, silk fans, picture fans...

Bat Trang Pottery Village

In addition to traditional products, Bat Trang pottery kilns also produce many new products to meet consumer demands such as new types of teapots, bowls, plates, vases, construction materials, and insulating porcelain.

Some artisans have had initial success in restoring some traditional ceramics with unique designs and glazes from the Ly, Tran, Le, and Mac dynasties.

Canh Hoach bird cage village

The village is located in Vac street, Thanh Oai district, 30km southwest of Hanoi center.

Vac village, the folk name of Canh Hoach village, is famous for its traditional crafts: making fans, hats, and especially birdcage making.

Vac village bird cages are not only supplied to Hanoi but also to the South and even abroad. Many bird lovers come to the village to order cages for tens of millions of dong.
