Thanks to the initiative, creativity, and efforts to overcome difficulties, in recent times, the provincial Sports sector has effectively implemented many solutions in the field of physical training and sports, in line with practical requirements, meeting local political tasks. Mr. Phan Dinh Vu - Director of the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center said: In recent times, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center has constantly innovated and improved the quality of training, selection, and training of athletes to build a force with high professional quality, capable of competing in many large and small events. In particular, after nearly 4 years of implementing the Project on training and coaching high-performance athletes (2020-2025 period), the unit has achieved many initial results, contributing significantly to serving the local political tasks, creating a vibrant and widespread physical training movement, improving achievements in modern sports.

Up to now, the province has maintained training of 4 provincial teams with 24 athletes (including: 6 taekwondo athletes, 6 traditional martial arts athletes, 6 athletics athletes, 6 karate athletes); along with 35 talented athletes in 3 sports: football, athletics and traditional martial arts. The training system is maintained systematically and scientifically, focusing on selecting and inheriting young and talented teams to create a continuous source for training and competition. In 2023 alone, the provincial Sports sector has left its mark with many achievements in many professional tournaments, regional and national scale. Thereby, young and talented athletes have been continuously discovered, nurtured and competed successfully, contributing to affirming the position of the province's sports. Accordingly, in 2023, the Sports sector successfully organized 8 provincial-level sports tournaments. Typically: Sports Festival to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Sports Industry; The 6th Traditional Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament; The 3rd Ethnic Minority Sports Festival; The Open Age-Group Badminton Championship; The Age-Group Table Tennis Championship; The Cross-Country Tournament; The Tennis Tournament; The 8th Traditional Football Tournament. In addition, the provincial Sports Department successfully hosted regional and national sports tournaments. In particular, it successfully hosted the 8th Central Highlands Karate Championship in 2023 with the participation of more than 300 athletes from 17 units in provinces and cities across the country. Through the successful hosting of regional and national tournaments, the image and position of the province has been enhanced with localities across the country. In 2023, a total of 14 regional and national sports tournaments and 4 unplanned tournaments were participated in; the results achieved a total of 112 medals (25 gold medals, 36 silver medals, 51 bronze medals), including: 72 regional medals, 40 national championship medals. In addition, there are 6 athletes who are currently masters; 9 athletes who have reached national level I (in 3 sports: athletics, karate and traditional martial arts); 1 athlete was called up to the national team and 3 athletes were called up to the national youth team... During the training process, there are always professional checks, selections and screenings, thereby selecting athletes with good professional qualifications to supplement the athlete force for the provincial teams; There are plans for teams and young athletes to participate in training at major training centers across the country to have the opportunity to practice and compete to improve their professional skills. Up to now, the training of athletes at the basic levels has been stabilized, and athletes at the team level have significantly improved their skills, especially in athletics, karate, and traditional martial arts. In terms of high-performance sports alone, in 2023, the Provincial Athletes' Delegation participated in regional and national competitions and won a total of 60 medals of all kinds, including: 9 gold medals, 17 silver medals, 34 bronze medals; the total number of athletes reaching the level: 13 athletes (8 masters and 5 level I athletes); especially the 3 sports of athletics, traditional martial arts, and karate have exceeded the assigned targets. The Provincial Sports Department also actively coordinates with departments, branches, and organizations to organize many sports activities to serve political tasks, important events, and major national holidays. Sports activities are organized in a variety of forms and rich in competition content, attracting a large number of people to participate; effectively responding to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho". The whole province currently has a rate of sports families reaching 23.5%, the number of people regularly practicing sports reaching 35.5%. "Promoting the achieved results, we will continue to closely follow the tasks and strategies set out, especially the goals of the Project on developing high-performance sports for implementation. Thereby, striving to continue to complete the targets set in 2024, towards the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026. On that journey, it is necessary to have the joint efforts, attention and creation of conditions from all levels, sectors and localities so that the province's sports can make steady progress and achieve more success" - Mr. Phan Dinh Vu added.
