Seminar "Nutritional and mental health" for students organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Law

A quick survey of more than 200 students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law showed that more than 70% had difficulty maintaining a healthy diet due to their busy schedules. This led to students skipping meals, eating irregularly, or relying on fast food.

Dr. Dao Thi Yen Phi, National Institute of Nutrition, former Head of the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety - Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (HCMC), emphasized that breakfast plays a very important role in providing necessary energy, affecting the mental quality of the whole day.

To maintain a healthy diet, Dr. Phi suggests that students need to rearrange their daily schedules, do everything in a planned and timely manner. That way, students will not have to run after time and will have time to eat scientifically. In addition, students also need to set aside a certain amount of time to exercise and improve their health.

Students enthusiastically asked questions to consult experts

Faced with the situation where more and more students are falling into a state of anxiety and depression due to the pressure of exams, grades, future orientation, etc., psychologist Dr. To Nhi A, senior lecturer on soft skills at the Viet Idea Training Center, lecturer at the Faculty of Basic Sciences - Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that this situation not only affects academic results but also negatively impacts the mental health of students.

In addition to sharing experiences and tips to help students manage emotions, reduce stress and maintain a stable state, Dr. To Nhi A also warns about phone "addiction".

"You need to train yourself to have a serious spirit of discipline; determine and arrange a specific schedule for yourself such as studying, eating, exercising and acting according to that schedule for a long time. In addition, avoid the misconception that using the phone will help you fall asleep easily. Instead, we should have a more active and healthy sleep by staying away from electronic devices" - Dr. To Nhi A advised.

According to Dr. To Nhi A, students need to build inner confidence to stop comparing themselves with others, find their own value, avoid major influences from social networks and success standards.
