We often talk about the dream of “four-season tourism” in the beautiful coastal city of Sam Son. The important thing is that we have enough heart - vision - strength to awaken the potentials and advantages, thereby raising the sea power in the cycle of four seasons?
Doc Cuoc Temple on a spring morning! The sacred temple is located on Co Giai Islet, in the Truong Le range, which has protected the land and people here for generations. From the temple's location, the view covers an entire coastal urban area that not only possesses unique historical and cultural values, but also exudes youthful, dynamic energy that is growing strongly and changing every day.
In 2024, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the socio-economic picture of Sam Son City stands out with bright colors. The city has completed and exceeded 29/29 main targets, many of which achieved outstanding results, ranking among the top in the province. In particular, the growth rate of production value reached 12.3%; total production value is estimated at 24,515 billion VND; average income per capita reached 77.5 million VND... State budget revenue reached 2,179 billion VND, ranking 3rd in the province and the highest level ever. Site clearance and disbursement of public investment capital continued to exceed the plan assigned by the province. Grassroots culture has changed positively. The city has successfully organized many cultural, sports and festival events. The quality of health care and social security work has been improved, people's lives continue to improve...
In that socio-economic picture, Sam Son tourism still affirms the leading position of the province, being an attractive, friendly and safe destination for tourists. In 2024, Sam Son tourism welcomed 8.86 million visitors, equal to 109.3% over the same period, 104.3% of the plan. Total revenue from tourists reached 17.1 trillion VND, equal to 140.6% over the same period, equal to 108.8% of the plan, exceeding the set target.
Infrastructure, technology, and new tourism products serving tourism continue to be invested in and exploited in a synchronous, diverse, and attractive manner. The accommodation system continues to be renovated and upgraded to basically meet the needs of tourists. Up to now, Sam Son City has 1,024 accommodation establishments, of which 92 tourist accommodation establishments are ranked from 1 to 5 stars; a total of 23,347 guest rooms meet the criteria of "bright - clean - beautiful".
The city has established and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the adjustment of the General Construction Plan for Sam Son City to 2040; coordinated the implementation of zoning plans according to regulations; approved and approved adjustments to detailed planning projects 1/500... creating an important premise in managing, calling for investment, and developing Sam Son urban area in a sustainable, civilized, and modern direction. In 2024, many projects have been completed and put into operation such as: Dong Son Avenue walking street; Memorial area for compatriots, cadres, soldiers and students from the South regrouping to the North; Sea Square project, festival landscape axis, Sea Square urban area, Sun World Water Park... The projects have contributed to fundamentally renewing the urban appearance, creating highlights in landscape architecture space, creating new tourism products. The city has effectively exploited the tourism potential of the Do River, Ma River, Truong Le Mountain and the sea to increase the attractiveness and attract domestic and international tourists, gradually overcoming the seasonality of Sam Son tourism.
With the goal of building Sam Son into a "City of Festivals", in the past year, many programs, series of cultural, sports, tourism and festival events took place, attracting a large number of tourists to participate such as: Opening of the 2024 sea tourism festival and inauguration of the Sea Square, the Sam Son City festival landscape axis; The 70th anniversary of welcoming compatriots, cadres, soldiers and students from the South to the North and the inauguration of the memorial area; coordinating the implementation of live television programs "Belief and Aspiration", "Rallying to the North - Deep Love and Meaning"; the Praying for Blessings festival, Doc Cuoc temple; Banh Chung - Banh Giay festival; the 2nd traditional art festival, mass art... Cultural and social activities are all aimed at building a beautiful image of Sam Son land and people in the hearts of friends and tourists; gradually creating the mindset and position of Sam Son people, especially the young generation.
Along with that, Sam Son City focuses on building a smart, attractive, friendly tourist city, a safe destination for tourists, resolutely handling violations in service and tourism activities, gradually creating sustainable changes for the tourism environment. Sam Son identifies that improving the culture of civilized tourism behavior is the responsibility of the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, departments, branches, organizations, each household, each residential area, individuals, tourism business organizations and the whole society.
The sea still sings the song of loyalty forever. In the current period, in order to enhance and promote the position of the province's key tourist city, the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU dated November 26, 2021 on the construction and development of Sam Son City by 2030, with a vision to 2045. In particular, the goal by 2030: Building and developing Sam Son to become a key national tourist city, an ideal destination for domestic and international tourists...; striving to become a smart, modern, attractive and friendly coastal tourist city by 2030. With a vision to 2045, Sam Son will be the leading unique tourist, entertainment and recreation city in the country; closely connected with Thanh Hoa City in terms of urban space, economic development space, tourism and services. Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU shows the concern, trust and expectations of the Provincial Party Standing Committee for the development of Sam Son.
The year 2025 plays a particularly important role, being the year of completion, deciding the results of implementing the Resolution of the 17th Sam Son City Party Congress, term 2020-2025 and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025; is the year of organizing Party congresses at all levels, consolidating new development foundations to implement the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2026-2030. Promoting the potentials and advantages, especially the advantages favored and bestowed by nature, in 2025, Sam Son City will continue to accelerate, make breakthroughs to strive to complete all goals and targets by 2025; focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in implementing socio-economic development tasks, creating clear changes in all fields.
Sam Son has gone through the summer with so much passion and burning; entering the autumn, it is gentle and tender; winter comes, the city exudes a romantic charm. And when spring comes, the city is full of vitality, excited to start implementing plans, goals of reaching out and developing, becoming a smart, modern, attractive, friendly coastal tourist city, a key national tourist city, an ideal destination for domestic and international tourists, an important driving force contributing to making Thanh Hoa province a new growth pole in the North of the country.
