Provincial leaders offer flowers and incense to commemorate General Secretary Le Duan

On the occasion of the 118th anniversary of General Secretary Le Duan's birthday on April 7 (1907 - 2025), this morning, April 7, the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee solemnly held an incense and flower offering ceremony in memory of General Secretary Le Duan at the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site in Hau Kien village, Trieu Thanh commune (Trieu Phong district) and the General Secretary Le Duan Monument at Le Duan Park (Dong Ha city).

Offering incense and flowers at the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site and the General Secretary Le Duan Statue at Le Duan Park, the provincial leaders respectfully bowed in gratitude and memory of General Secretary Le Duan, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, an outstanding son of the heroic homeland of Quang Tri.

General Secretary Le Duan's real name was Le Van Nhuan, born on April 7, 1907, in a working-class family with a tradition of patriotism in Bich La village, Trieu Dong commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province. Early awakening to the revolution, in 1928 he joined the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association.

In 1930, he was one of the first generation members of the Communist Party of Vietnam founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc.

Throughout his revolutionary career, in important positions of the Party, with 26 consecutive years as First Secretary and General Secretary of the Party (1960 - 1986), comrade Le Duan, together with the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee, determined the guidelines and policies of the resistance wars for national liberation and defense of the Fatherland, defeated the wars of aggression of imperialism and other reactionary forces, and strongly encouraged the struggle movement of the world's people against imperialism and colonialism, for independence and freedom.

For Quang Tri, General Secretary Le Duan always had a deep love and affection for his homeland. He always encouraged and reminded the Party Committee and the people of the province to further promote the virtues of diligence and courage; to promote the strength of collective mastery to develop the economy more strongly. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to developing the economy of the regions, exploiting the labor potential well; building new people with awareness and capacity, loving labor, being full of compassion and respecting justice.

The loving and responsible advice of General Secretary Le Duan is always remembered and followed by cadres, party members and people of Quang Tri, together uniting and making efforts to build the homeland to become more and more prosperous.
