Mr. Dang Ha Viet said: "SEA Games is still an important arena for Vietnamese sports. However, we do not devote all resources to SEA Games. Resources must be distributed, especially for the ASIAD and Olympic orientations. This is clearly shown in the strategy of Vietnam's sports until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The General Department of Sports and Physical Training has built it over the past years and focused on Olympic sports. In that strategy, there are high-performance sports, separate projects for athletics, and football. We also hope that when building that project, there will be a separate source of funding. Currently, the funding source is still a lump sum and still has to be distributed and covered for the games."

Although Vietnamese sports have many talents, the infrastructure and coaching staff have not received adequate investment. According to Mr. Dang Ha Viet, funding is only one factor, the other is entangled in the mechanism. He said it was heartbreaking to see the infrastructure and equipment that athletes practice with every day. That makes the medals that Vietnamese athletes have won even more commendable.
"To invest in ASIAD and Olympics, we need equipment and facilities. Everyone saw the gymnastics team, we just won 4 gold medals, surpassing the famous Philippine athlete Carlos Yulo. Everyone go to google to see the gymnastics team's gym and see if it hurts. Currently, building a gym at My Dinh Sports Complex is not simple, related to mechanisms, planning,... We have lost from facilities, not because we did not invest but because of the mechanism", Mr. Dang Ha Viet shared.
