
With a rich forest ecosystem, stretching all the way to the Vietnam - Laos - China border junction, located in 5 buffer zone communes: Sin Thau, Leng Su Sin, Chung Chai, Muong Nhe and Nam Ke (Muong Nhe district), the special-use forest of Muong Nhe Nature Reserve (NR) plays a very important role in shielding and protecting people from natural disasters, bringing a clean ecological atmosphere; at the same time, bringing income and benefits to forest owners, village communities participating in forest protection. With that important meaning, 7 months ago, the Muong Nhe NR Management Board coordinated with the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication (TN and MT), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to plant 40,000 trees in plot 14, sub-zone 61, Sin Thau commune (Muong Nhe district). Thanks to good care and protection, the area of planted trees has now become greener, contributing to increasing forest coverage, creating a habitat for rare animals and plants and developing forests.

Including natural forest protection of 415,361.35 hectares ( estimated to reach 100% of the plan ) ; forest regeneration: 17,918 hectares ( 100 hectares of new forest; the remaining area is transitional forest protection of 17,818 hectares) , reaching 111% of the plan; care for transitional forests of 626.11 hectares; site preparation for forest planting of 175 hectares/415 hectares (reaching 42.17%); development of non-timber forest products has been surveyed and designed on 54 hectares/100 hectares (reaching 54%); planting of non-timber forest products of 5 hectares/100 hectares (reaching 5%). Thanks to that, in the first 9 months of the year, the whole province has organized the planting of 157 hectares of macadamia trees (enterprises implemented: 145 hectares; people implemented: 12 hectares); prepared the site for 1,333 hectares; gathered 63,894 macadamia seedlings.
With the goal of increasing the forest coverage rate in the whole province to 44% by the end of 2023, localities and functional forces are currently synchronously implementing many solutions to strictly protect the existing forest area and the annual increase in forest area. At the same time, gradually build the province's forestry sector into an economic sector, making an increasing contribution to the socio-economic development process, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, stabilizing people's lives; managing, protecting, developing and sustainably using forest resources and forestry land.
