Mr. Chu Van Bach, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Bien district, said: In recent years, Dien Bien district has promoted mechanization in agricultural production. Currently, farmers in the area are gradually replacing direct sowing with the use of motorized transplanters. The whole district currently has nearly 150 motorized transplanters. The area using transplanters in the 2023 crop season is over 500 hectares. The use of transplanters helps limit pests and diseases, reduce labor and especially eliminate mixed rice, thereby reducing investment costs for producers, contributing to improving the quality and value of Dien Bien rice products. Dien Bien district strives that by 2025, the rice area in the Dien Bien basin will basically apply motorized transplanters in production. At the same time, piloting a model of spraying pesticides using unmanned aerial vehicles. Thus, by 2025, Dien Bien district will have some rice areas 100% mechanized in the entire production process.
Production links between enterprises and farmers have been focused on by local authorities and functional sectors, while promoting investment attraction in the field of high-quality rice production in Muong Thanh fields. Currently, Dien Bien district has attracted 3 units to invest in building processing factories, linking with people to produce, process and consume high-quality rice. The total linked area is about 500 hectares. Enterprises and cooperatives participate in developing rice production according to the linked chain, associated with the implementation of large-scale field projects. Thanks to that, high-quality rice products of the links have penetrated large, demanding markets such as: Hanoi , Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen... Dien Bien district continues to invite corporations and enterprises outside the province to invest in projects to produce, process and consume Dien Bien rice products with a total area of more than 4,100 hectares of the basin.
Tua Chua district is famous for its tea products. In recent years, the district has focused on attracting businesses and cooperatives to invest in developing tea products in the direction of commodities, increasing value and expanding product markets. Up to now, Tua Chua district has successfully built 3 lines of tea products meeting OCOP standards with a 3-star rating. In 2023, Tua Chua district will continue to attract 1 more production facility to build a line of Huong Thanh tea products meeting OCOP standards.
Ms. Vu Thi Cha, the economic owner of Huong Thanh tea products, said: Since 2000, when the first tea processing facility was built in Tua Chua district, my family has participated in tea production. With more than 20 years of experience in processing Tua Chua tea, and wanting to build, promote and expand the market for Tua Chua tea products, this year I registered to build a Tua Chua tea product line that meets OCOP standards. The raw material area for the product is in the low-tree tea area of Sinh Phinh commune with a total area of about 100 hectares. The output of fresh tea is estimated at 100 tons/year, equivalent to 20 tons of finished tea/year. Currently, all procedures have been completed and submitted to the People's Committee of Tua Chua district for approval.
Besides tea products, Mong Pe wine is also a typical and famous agricultural product of Tua Chua district. In 2023, on the basis of inheriting and promoting traditional products, Tua Chua district continues to seek subjects to build Mong Pe wine products that meet OCOP standards.
Ms. Nguyen My Linh, Director of Huong Linh Dien Bien Company Limited, said: The company is developing a wine product with the Ta Chai brand that meets OCOP standards based on the traditional Mong Pe wine of the Mong people of Tua Chua. This product has a lot of potential for development because it is a symbolic product of Tua Chua, and at the same time has a large raw material area of corn fields in Xa Nhe commune and 4 northern communes: Sinh Phinh, Ta Phin, Ta Sin Thang and Sin Chai. Regarding processing technology, the company basically follows the traditional manual method of the Mong people, but applies techniques to moderate the strength of the wine, eliminating toxins so that the wine product has a characteristic aroma.
Ms. Vu Ngoc Anh, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tua Chua district, said: In 2023, Tua Chua district will develop 5 OCOP products, of which 2 products will be developed from the district's specialties and characteristics: Mong Pe wine and Tua Chua tea. Currently, the subjects have completed the documents and procedures in accordance with the process and regulations. In November, the District Council will conduct the evaluation of district-level OCOP products. This year, Tua Chua District People's Committee also focuses on supporting and accompanying Huong Linh Dien Bien Company Limited to complete the criteria to upgrade 3 Tua Chua tea product lines from 3-star OCOP products to 4-star products.
