Butterfly Texas Table Tennis Summer 2023 Tournament by Texas Table Tennis Training Center (TTHL-BB Texas) held in Houston City has 5 events, of which 3 are for male athletes to accumulate points up to 1,400, 1,900 and 2,300. The remaining two events are not distinguished by class, including the women's singles open tournament and the men's singles tournament. Female athletes can also compete in the men's singles event.
All events will be played in a round-robin format in the group stage to select athletes for the next knockout stages. The women's singles event has 16 athletes competing, including 3 Vietnamese athletes and some athletes from other countries. President of TTHL-BB Texas, Mr. Dylan Nguyen, commented: "In the group stage and the following rounds, Nguyen Thi Nga and Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh both competed very well, with outstanding and equal sub-indices, so the professional department agreed to let the two Vietnamese athletes receive the joint first prize in this event."

There are 32 athletes competing in the men's singles, including strong players such as 18-year-old Ryoichi Yoshiyama, who just won 3rd place in the Japanese men's singles tournament and is a member of the Japanese team that will compete in the Asian Championship in September 2023. In addition, there is also Yutaka Nakano, who was in the top 16 of the Japanese men's singles in 2018, and Chinese player Li Kewei (42 years old), who specializes in cutting the ball, and was previously a blue player for the Chinese team.
Both male and 3 female athletes of Vietnam competed in this men's singles event. However, the most effective competitors were Nguyen Thi Nga, Le Dinh Duc and Dinh Anh Hoang. Although a female athlete, when facing the top 16 Japanese men's singles player Nakano, Nguyen Thi Nga still showed that the score was not too different in each game, the final score was 1-3.
