Dang Minh finished the first 9 holes with 1 more birdie at hole 16. Moving to the next 9 holes, Nguyen Dang Minh had 4 more birdies at holes 1, 2, 6 and 7, thereby closing the round of the tournament with 66 strokes. With a result of -6, it will be very difficult for the remaining golfers in the tournament to take the top spot on the Rankings from Nguyen Dang Minh after the end of round 1.

In an interview after the competition, Nguyen Dang Minh said he was not under any pressure entering the tournament. “I am very happy with this achievement and happy to have improved my competitive mentality and stability throughout the competition. I will try my best,” Dang Minh said.

Although SEA Games 32 champion Le Khanh Hung did not participate in the tournament because he was preparing to study abroad, the tournament still gathered the best golfers today such as Nguyen Anh Minh, Nguyen Dang Minh, Nguyen Nhat Long, Truong Chi Quan, Do Hong Giang, Doan Van Dinh,... in the men's category and Doan Xuan Khue Minh, Le Chuc An, Ngo Bao Nghi, Nguyen Thao My,... in the women's category.

In the list of 152 golfers competing for the title of best Vietnamese golfer in 2023, there are 31 female golfers (13 professional golfers, 18 amateur golfers) and 121 male golfers (80 professional golfers, 41 amateur golfers).

The tournament has the participation of many of today's strongest golfers.

The 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup takes place in stroke play format over four (4) rounds of 18 holes (total 72 holes) on the Marsh Course in the Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong golf and resort complex - an 18-hole par 72 golf course with a unique design and high difficulty from the natural marsh terrain.

For the men's division, after 36 holes, there will be a cut and only the top 40 players and ties will be allowed to continue. For the women's division, after 36 holes, there will be a cut and only the top 12 players and ties will be allowed to continue. The winner of each division is the player with the lowest gross score at the end of the tournament in that division.

The total prize value of the 2023 National Golf Championship - VinFast Cup is up to 1.2 billion VND, of which 1 billion VND for the men's category and 200 million VND for the women's category.
