In addition to ensuring the health of officers and soldiers protecting the border, the "green-uniformed doctors" of the Chieng Khuong Border Guard Station of Son La Provincial Border Guard are always diligent in taking care of the health of people in the border area, serving as a bridge between the increasingly close friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
The road to visit the "adopted son of the border guard" Thao Phe and the people of Dan village, Muong Et district, Hua Phan province, Lao PDR of Major Lo Van Thuong gradually became familiar... Twice a month, he takes the time to visit, chat, and give health advice to the people here. The intimate stories and words of encouragement to the people of Laos are special spiritual gifts for many people in the border area of Laos, especially households with difficult circumstances, who have little opportunity to access medical services due to their distance from the center.
Mrs. Nang Phon - Ban Dan, Muong Et district, Hua Phan province, Lao PDR : Every time the soldiers come to check our health and give us medicine, we are very happy. We thank the Vietnamese Border Guard very much.
After each working trip to the border to places where people still face many difficulties, Major Lo Van Thuong still strives every day to do a good job of taking care of the health of officers and soldiers who are carrying out the mission of protecting the Fatherland's borders; ensuring to maintain a healthy army of 98% or more.
Major of the People's Army Lo Van Thuong - Medical staff, Border Guard Station Chieng Khuong, Border Guard of Son La province: In addition to medical examination and treatment for officers, soldiers and people in the border area under our responsibility, we also regularly visit and provide medical examination and treatment for people in some border villages under the responsibility of the border area of Laos, also demonstrating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
In the border communes of Muong Sai and Chieng Khuong, people's living conditions are still difficult. The majority of people here are Thai and Mong ethnic minorities. Although the issue of health care for people has been focused on, there are still many obstacles. Because of that, Major Lo Van Thuong is more aware of his responsibility and work in taking care of people's health.
Ms. Lo Thi Nhot - Chieng Khuong Village, Chieng Khuong Commune, Song Ma District, Son La : I often get sick so the border medical staff often come to examine me and ask about my health. We always consider the soldiers as our family members. Thank you very much, border guards.
The luggage packed in Major Lo Van Thuong's military medical bag includes basic medical equipment for examination, to common medicines; along with easy-to-understand, easy-to-remember propaganda stories so that people know how to proactively take care of their health, prevent and fight epidemics that often occur in border areas.
Major Hoang Quang Huy, Deputy Head of the Chieng Khuong Border Guard Station, Son La Provincial Border Guard: The Party Committee and the command of the station have directed the unit's military medical staff to regularly improve the quality of health check-ups for officers and soldiers, ensuring the supply of medicine; especially for teams working far from the unit, to ensure that soldiers have the health to perform the task of managing and protecting the national border security and sovereignty. In addition, the unit's military medical staff also regularly coordinates with doctors and nurses from the two communes of Chieng Khuong and Muong Sai to organize health check-ups for people in the border area.
The care and sharing of the Son La Provincial Border Guard is the connecting thread between the people in the border area and the Border Guard, increasingly connecting and tightening the military-civilian relationship, building a strong national solidarity bloc at the border .
