On the morning of December 27, the Provincial Cooperative Union organized the acceptance and handover of the chain production model at the Vietnamese Medicinal Herbs Cooperative (Gia Sinh commune, Gia Vien).
The Vietnamese Medicinal Herbs Cooperative was established in April 2023 with 10 members, specializing in the production of Cordyceps mushrooms. The Cooperative has a modern factory system including 4 breeding rooms and 1 microbiology room. On average, the Cooperative harvests 100 kg of fresh mushrooms per month and dries 7-10 kg. The Cooperative is currently supplying the market with 4 main products: Fresh Cordyceps mushrooms, dried Cordyceps mushrooms, Cordyceps wine and Cordyceps honey.
With the support of the Provincial Cooperative Union, the Cooperative invested in installing a freeze dryer with a total cost of 615 million VND, of which the Provincial Cooperative Union supported 300 million VND, the rest was from the Cooperative's capital. Investing in installing a freeze dryer system helps the dried cordyceps retain the same nutrients as fresh cordyceps.
In addition, after freeze drying, the product will have a longer shelf life and avoid the effects of mold, bacteria and environmental factors. Thereby improving productivity and product quality, meeting market requirements.
The cooperative is creating jobs for 5 workers with an income of 4-5 million VND/person/month. This is a closed-chain production model that ensures food hygiene and safety.
