Tomorrow, May 20, the Seventh Session of the 15th National Assembly opens.

Tomorrow (May 20), the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly will solemnly open at the National Assembly House, Hanoi.

The 7th session will be held in 2 phases: Phase 1: from May 20 to June 8, 2024; Phase 2: from June 17 to the morning of June 28, 2024, in the form of a centralized meeting . The total working time of the session is expected to be 26.5 days.

At this session, the National Assembly will consider and pass 10 draft laws, including: Law on Social Insurance (amended); Law on Archives (amended); Law on National Defense Industry, Security and Industrial Mobilization; Law on Roads; Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; Law on the Capital (amended); Law on Organization of People's Courts (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Property Auction; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Security Guards; Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Support Tools (amended).

The National Assembly will also consider and approve three draft resolutions, including: Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting the addition of a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province; Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 119/2020/QH14 of the National Assembly on piloting the organization of an urban government model and a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city; Resolution of the National Assembly on the 2025 Law and Ordinance Development Program, adjusting the 2024 Law and Ordinance Development Program.

At this session, the National Assembly will consider and comment on 11 draft laws, including: Law on Notarization (amended); Law on Trade Unions (amended); Law on Cultural Heritage (amended); Law on Geology and Minerals; Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended); Law on Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue; Law on People's Air Defense; Law on Urban and Rural Planning; Law on Juvenile Justice; Law on Value Added Tax (amended); Law on Amendments and Supplements to a Number of Articles of the Law on Pharmacy.

In addition, the National Assembly also considers and gives opinions on socio-economic issues, the state budget, supervision, thrift practice, and waste prevention; considers and decides on personnel work within its authority; in addition to conducting questions and answers for 2.5 days.

Regarding personnel work, after the Party Central Committee introduces personnel for the 15th National Assembly to elect to hold the positions of President and National Assembly Chairman, the National Assembly will proceed to elect these two positions according to the procedures and authority prescribed at the 7th Session.
