VHO – On the afternoon of December 13, in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, the opening ceremony of cultural, sports and tourism activities took place within the framework of the "Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival 2024".
The 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, will take place in Quang Tri from December 14 to 16 on a national scale.
The festival attracted the participation of 1,500 artisans, actors and athletes from 16 provinces and cities across the country, including: Bac Giang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue, Vinh Phuc and Quang Tri.
The activity aims to honor and promote the fine traditional cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups in the unified and diverse culture of the Vietnamese ethnic community.
Raising awareness and consciousness in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese ethnic community in the period of integration and development of the country.
In her opening speech, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), member of the Organizing Committee of "Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival 2024", sent her congratulations, welcome and commended the artisans, actors, mass athletes, and representatives of ethnic groups from 16 provinces who traveled far and wide to attend the festival:
“The activities of The festival will create a particularly meaningful cultural space, so that cultural subjects, artisans, actors, and athletes of all ethnic groups have the opportunity and conditions to meet, exchange, and share valuable experiences in preserving, maintaining, and promoting traditional cultural values.
The activity also contributes significantly to building Vietnamese culture and people, creating motivation to realize the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Party and State.
This is also a useful and healthy playground, creating a source of inspiration for artisans, actors, and athletes who are attached to and passionate about folk arts and traditional national sports.
The organizers hope that the delegations will create a vivid, colorful but equally delicate and diverse picture of the cultural life of ethnic groups representing regions across the country" - Ms. Tran Thi Bich Huyen emphasized.
Right after the opening ceremony, the competition of 10 units took place, including: Quang Tri; Nghe An; Quang Ngai; Quang Nam; Dak Lak; Quang Binh; Bac Giang; Son La; Thanh Hoa; Dak Nong.
The teams brought to the audience a diverse space of music and national culture such as: Mass art festival; traditional national costume performance; performance, introduction of festival excerpts, traditional national cultural rituals.
In addition, booths of each province and city also display and promote traditional cultural products, including charts, models of artifacts, images, musical instruments, costumes of typical ethnic minorities of each locality; paintings, photos, books, handicrafts, brocade, house architecture, etc.
Activities to promote and advertise tourism, display specialty products and demonstrate handicrafts such as brocade weaving, crafting handicrafts, traditional musical instruments, introducing unique ethnic cuisine of localities...
Photo exhibition “Ethnic minorities in Vietnam accompany the country's development” by the Department of Ethnic Culture; exhibition “Cultural colors of Vietnamese ethnic groups” by the Museum of Cultures of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.
Coming to the festival, people and tourists can also admire the beauty of traditional costumes, enjoy folk songs, vibrant and captivating dances, and immerse themselves in the festival space associated with the spiritual life and beliefs of ethnic minorities through the skillful and talented performances of artisans.
The event creates conditions for localities to exchange, learn and share experiences, contributing to raising awareness and consciousness in preserving and maintaining national cultural identity, as well as building and protecting the Fatherland.
Thereby, contributing to the development of Vietnamese culture and people, meeting the requirements of sustainable national development according to Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee and Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW dated June 4, 2020 of the Politburo.
