May 28: New domestic Covid-19 cases lowest in recent weeks

According to the Ministry of Health's announcement on the Covid-19 epidemic, today the country recorded 341 new Covid-19 cases. This is the lowest number of new cases in recent weeks. Previously, from the beginning of May to May 27, each day recorded from 800 to 3,300 new cases.

Today, May 28, 341 new Covid-19 cases were recorded domestically.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has recorded more than 11.6 million Covid-19 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,327 cases/million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.

Health departments reported that on May 27, 187 patients were declared cured, with no deaths due to Covid-19. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.637 million Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been cured.

At the treatment facilities, there are 35 patients on oxygen. Of these, 26 cases are on oxygen through masks; 6 cases are on high-flow HFNC; 1 case is on non-invasive ventilation and 2 severe cases require invasive ventilation.

The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam since the beginning of the epidemic is 43,206 cases, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 countries and territories. The number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories.

Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.

Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 27, 111 more doses were administered. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 266.4 million doses have been administered nationwide. Of which, nearly 223.74 million doses have been administered to people aged 18 and over; nearly 24 million doses have been administered to people aged 12-17; and more than 18.7 million doses have been administered to people aged 5-11.
