Grimes has three children with Tesla CEO Elon Musk: X Æ A-XII (4 years old), Exa Dark Sideræl (3 years old) and Techno Mechanicus (1 year old).
"I've tried begging the public, my children's father to keep them offline, and I've tried legal action," the Canadian-born singer wrote via X.

"I've seen young people ruined by the internet. The fact that my child's life is being made public makes me extremely worried and I have to think about how to solve this problem every day. It makes me crazy that there is no way to solve this," said Grimes, 36.
"I hope there is some law that allows parents to override banning their children from social media, but honestly, I don't even believe the law would help me if I tried to invoke it," the singer said.

Previously, in February 2025, Grimes spoke out about her child's privacy when she condemned Elon Musk (53 years old) for bringing his son X Æ A-XII to a press conference at the White House with President Donald Trump.
The tech billionaire carried X Æ A-XII on his shoulders as Mr Trump signed an executive order benefiting the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which Musk co-directs.
Grimes claims she was unaware of her son's attendance until a fan passed the photos on X (formerly Twitter).
"He shouldn't be in public like this. I didn't know this, thanks for warning me," she wrote at the time.

Two weeks later, Grimes told Time that she no longer wanted to post pictures of her baby online. "I really want people to stop posting pictures of my baby everywhere," she said.
That same month, Grimes also accused Musk of ignoring a “medical crisis” with one of their children.
Grimes and Elon Musk dated from 2018 to 2022. They had previously been involved in legal issues. They both filed a lawsuit against each other in October 2023 over parental rights to their three children.
