Admire the monument "The Ship Gathering to the North" nearing completion

In late August, at the project of the Memorial Area for Southern compatriots, cadres, soldiers and students regrouping to the North (Quang Tien ward, Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa), the construction unit is urgently completing the monument items "The ship regrouping to the North".

According to information from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, this is the area where a series of events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Southern compatriots and soldiers regrouping to the North are expected to take place, held on the evening of September 1.

The monument “The Ship Gathering for the North” belongs to Sub-area A of the project of the Memorial Area for Southern compatriots, soldiers and students gathering for the North. The project was invested in construction from August 2022, with a cost of about 80 billion VND from the Thanh Hoa provincial budget and socialized capital.

According to the design, the ship is made of reinforced concrete, with a bow-shaped relief made of granite blocks. In addition, there is a protective wharf for the monument and auxiliary items.

According to Dan Tri reporter, the arc-shaped relief made of granite block is in the process of completion.

The construction team is rushing to complete the steps and stone cladding around the relief.

Next to the relief are large stone statues, recreating the activities of Southern compatriots and soldiers moving to Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province.

The front of the ship is designed with large stone blocks, sculpted in the shape of rolling waves crashing against the ship's hull.

The deck is equipped with a railing system for tourists and locals to stand and sightsee.

The interior of the ship is designed with stairs going up and down. The area inside the monument will be arranged as a miniature museum with collected artifacts and simulated interiors of ships from Poland, the Soviet Union (formerly)...

Outside the monument grounds are designed a wharf and a scenic playground.

The road connecting Nam Song Ma Avenue, more than 1km long, to the monument area has been completed.

As planned, the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Site for Southern compatriots, soldiers and students who gathered in the North will take place on October 27.

In addition to the inauguration ceremony and live television broadcast, in late September and early October, Thanh Hoa province will also organize a scientific conference and a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Southern compatriots and soldiers regrouping to the North.
