The Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway connecting the Southeast and Southwest provinces through Dong Nai province is 27km long, of which more than 3.5km passes through the mangrove forest and has just been opened to traffic. This road is considered the most beautiful highway through the forest in the country.
The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project started construction in 2014, with a total length of more than 57 km, passing through Long An, Dong Nai provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
The project has a total investment of 31,300 billion VND and is expected to be completed after 5 years. However, it was temporarily suspended in 2019 due to some problems. In 2023, the project was restarted and opened to traffic in 2 sections before Tet.
According to Mr. Dang Huu Vi - Director of the Southern Expressway Project Management Board, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway has about 3.5 km passing through the mangrove forest in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts (Dong Nai province).
The road through the mangrove forest is picturesque with the green color running along the highway.
Previously, on January 23, two eligible sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project were put into temporary operation without toll collection. These are the first and last sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, approximately 11 km long.
Putting into operation two sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will reduce traffic pressure during the Lunar New Year as well as meet people's travel needs.
A representative of the Vietnam Expressway Engineering Services Joint Stock Company (VECE) said that the operation of the two sections of the project will help reduce the load on existing national highways. In particular, when traveling through the two sections of the highway, people will be exempted from tolls until April 30.
After the entire route is completed, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project will connect traffic directly with the provinces of the West and Southeast without having to go through the center of Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, it will help shorten the time of circulation and transportation of goods. Thereby promoting economic development, attracting investment and tourism of Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An provinces.
