Many items of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project, the eastern branch through Dong Nai province, 7km long, have been completed and are expected to open to traffic in December, helping to connect National Highway 51 to the entrance to Phuoc An port.
The Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project, East branch, through Dong Nai province possesses beautiful natural landscapes with many mangrove areas in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts. At the construction site, the approximately 7km section from the National Highway 51 intersection to the access road to Phuoc An Port has been basically completed. The final items are being actively constructed. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is 58km long, has 4 lanes, 2 emergency lanes, a design speed of 100km/h, and a total investment of about 31,320 billion VND in phase 1, connecting Ben Luc district (Long An) with Long Thanh district (Dong Nai). The toll station with 10 lanes at the end of the highway connecting to National Highway 51 is being completed. Traffic signs, lane dividers, anti-glare panels, and lighting systems have also been installed. Along the route is the Thi Vai bridge project, 3.3km long, with a total investment of more than 1,100 billion VND, the most difficult construction item of the package due to complex geology with many layers of hard rock.
Part of the road section across Thi Vai Bridge is under urgent construction to connect the expressway smoothly in 2025. On the construction site, many machines and workers work continuously to ensure project progress. The entrance and exit at the intersection of Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 51 (Dong Nai) has basically taken shape after being paved. When completed, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway will connect traffic, contributing to promoting trade and economic development between the provinces of the West and Southeast; thereby, attracting investment and tourism of Dong Nai, Long An and Ho Chi Minh City.
The 58km Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project, with an investment capital of more than VND 31,320 billion, was started in 2014 and suspended 5 years later due to some problems. In 2023, the project was restarted. Currently, the expressway is under construction again and is expected to be completed in September 2025.
