Dredging more than 125 thousand cubic meters of mud and soil to clear Sa Ky port channel

On August 17, the leader of Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority said that he had just approved the Plan to ensure maritime safety and traffic safety for the construction of the dredging and maintenance project of Sa Ky Maritime Channel.

In August and September, Sa Ky port will be dredged to remove more than 125 thousand cubic meters of mud and soil.

Accordingly, the Sa Ky navigation channel maintenance dredging project will dredge 125,319m3 of mud and soil from Sa Ky port with a channel length of 1.8km divided into 2 sections.

Of which, the outer section is 1.4km long from downstream buoy P1, P2 to buoy P4. The inner section is 0.4km long from buoy P4 to the water area in front of the wharf.

According to the approved plan, the dredging work will create a bottom elevation of the turning area of ​​3.5m deep, and a dredged slope of 3.5m.

All dredged mud will be submerged in a 50-hectare sea area about 5.5m southeast of buoy number 0 of Sa Ly navigation channel, 27km southwest of Ly Son island.

Dredging means are self-propelled suction dredgers and rope bucket excavators. Transport means are self-propelled suction dredgers and self-propelled open-bottom barges.

It is known that the project is invested by the Northern Maritime Safety Corporation and Sao Mai Maritime Company Limited, headquartered in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, is the construction unit.

Construction time from August to September 2024.
