According to data from the National Power System Dispatch Center, although the peak capacity of the entire system as of May 28 has not surpassed the peak of the end of April (47,670 MW, which is also the historical peak to date), the national electricity consumption on May 28, 2024 reached a new record peak of 1.0019 billion kWh.
This is the first time in history that national electricity consumption per day has exceeded 1 billion kWh.

Particularly for the Northern region, although the weather has been quite hot and humid in recent days, it has not yet reached its peak. Electricity consumption in the North has also increased in both capacity and output in recent days, but has not yet surpassed the old peak.
Therefore, electricity consumption in the North continues to increase, increasing pressure on electricity supply during peak heat waves that may occur in the near future.
To join hands to ensure electricity supply during the hot summer of 2024, which has been facing unfavorable weather conditions, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) calls on people and electricity customers to use electricity economically, especially during peak hours at noon (from 11:00 to 15:00) and in the evening (from 19:00 to 23:00).
In particular, it is necessary to pay special attention to the reasonable use of air conditioning, only turn on the air conditioner when really necessary, set the temperature at 26-27 degrees or higher; at the same time, pay attention not to use many high-capacity electrical devices at the same time during peak hours.
Thoroughly using electricity economically also reduces the risk of electrical problems and limits the situation of high electricity bills.
