As one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam, in recent years, Vietnam Pharmaceutical Materials Joint Stock Company (VIETMEC) - Zone 8, Phu Ninh Commune, Phu Ninh District has continuously invested in scientific research, pioneered in applying advanced technology and strictly complied with international health standards to improve product quality, for the health of the community.
VIETMEC invests in many modern equipment from raw material processing to preparation, dosage and final packaging.
In 2011, Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company came into operation, initially mainly producing and trading medicinal herbs. However, during the operation, the Company's Board of Directors realized that the trend of developing traditional medicine in a modern, easy-to-use, easy-to-preserve direction would be the inevitable future development of traditional medicine. Therefore, the Company organized delegations to survey and learn from experiences in some Asian countries producing and trading in types of products such as ointments, granules, traditional medicines, and medicinal products prepared from medicinal herbs; to study market demand and consumer changes.
On this basis, the Company has invested in small-scale experimental research to have a suitable production process. Those successes are the basis for the Company to decide to invest in the GMP-WHO Oriental Medicine Factory in Phu Ninh Commune. Since 2018, VIETMEC's GMP-WHO Oriental Medicine Factory has officially operated and quickly achieved GMP-WHO and GMP-HS certification from the Ministry of Health.
As one of the pioneering factories in Vietnam, with the strength of a modern, synchronous, closed technological chain, proactive in raw material sources, VIETMEC has extracted and spray-dried all medicinal herbs to obtain standard dried medicinal herbs, with qualitative and quantitative indicators, active ingredients, microbiological standards, heavy metals, pesticide residues... all meeting the criteria allowing the production of many diverse health protection products, with high quality and efficiency in care and treatment, receiving positive feedback from consumers.
Currently, VIETMEC produces medicinal ingredients, such as medicinal extracts: concentrated extracts, liquid extracts, dry extracts, granules-powdered medicinal herbs, pre-processed-processed medicinal herbs, traditional medicinal herbs with a production scale of about 300 batches of products/year; produces medicinal herbs, traditional medicines, including production lines in the form of hard capsules, powdered medicines, granules, tablets, medicinal teas, and herbal medicines with a production scale of about 200 batches of products/year.
In addition, VIETMEC produces soft capsules and liquid medicines with a scale of about 60 product batches/year. In 2022, the Company officially listed DVM shares on the Vietnamese stock exchange, Hanoi Stock Exchange.
Raw material warehouse is preserved according to standards, ensuring product quality.
Mr. Ngo Minh Quan - Deputy Director of the Company said: From the quality and effectiveness, the Company's products are used as raw materials to produce oriental medicine for pharmaceutical companies and health protection products nationwide; serving the traditional medicine hospital system of provinces, cities and oriental medicine departments of general hospitals, to prescribe for patients to use immediately by mixing and dissolving in drinking water instead of having to boil medicine in the traditional way before. Some of these dry powder products are also sold freely to serve consumers due to their ease of use, such as: Soluble powder of Ha Thu Do, Ba Kich, Linh Chi, Que, Ca Gai Leo, Chasteberry...
However, along with the achieved results, in recent years, the Company's production and business have also encountered many difficulties due to the impact of post-COVID 19, political conflicts in the world... In that situation, the Company has implemented many innovative solutions such as rearranging the workforce, attracting high-quality human resources, researching production, improving product quality, actively transforming digitally in production and business activities... Thereby improving product competitiveness, the Company's competitiveness and operational efficiency.
In 2023, the Company's total revenue reached more than 1,481 billion VND. In the first 6 months of 2024, the total revenue reached more than 716 billion VND, creating stable jobs for 110 officers and employees with an average income of 8 - 10 million VND/person/month. Paying full tax obligations to the State and paying insurance for employees according to the provisions of law.
