"Return" is a work combining painting and architecture to recreate the beauty of the ancient Nguyen Dynasty, at the same time, creating a romantic, lyrical space. With the combination of gentle, bright colors, the work recalls a glorious past of Vietnamese history.
Sharing the idea of making "Return", Master. Tien Viet recounted that on the flight from Hanoi to Da Nang, he happened to read an article about "The Golden Seal of the Emperor", from which, the desire arose to put pen to paper and immediately draw the ideas that suddenly flashed in his head about the ancient royal dynasty. The male lecturer got the idea from a treasure, the moving, curving details evoked the feeling of time turning, then, traveling back in time to the years of the Nguyen Dynasty.
"In addition, the presence of royal architecture and majestic mausoleums has created an immortal mark of time. That makes the whole work lyrical and has the appearance of a poetic Hue that seems to 'breathe' and move with the flow of time," he added.

Master Tien Viet painstakingly carved and painted "Return" for 45 days and spent a lot of time learning about the history of "Imperial Seal Chi Bao". He carefully selected each image and motif to include in the work and skillfully combined them to create a uniform, rhythmic shape. "Return" is a large-sized print (70 cm x 190 cm) and is a collage with multi-layered woodblock printing technique, so it requires meticulousness in the carving and ink printing stages to create the most perfect final product possible.
Previously, MSc. Tien Viet won awards such as Second Prize at the 2020 Da Nang Fine Arts Exhibition with the work "Warmth of the Highlands"; Third Prize at the 2019 Literature and Arts Awards organized by the National Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations with the work "Fate"... He also has many other works selected for display at exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
In addition, the male lecturer pursued and shaped his style in a new genre of painting - lacquer engraving. To date, he has created more than 200 works in different genres such as black and white woodcuts, original engravings, lacquer engravings, unique woodcuts or iron pen. This diversity demonstrates his creativity and ability to adapt to many different artistic styles.
