Chi Bach had an accident on May 19th, on his way to school. At that time, he had no scratches or bleeding so he thought nothing was wrong. After that, Bach could not lift his legs. After being examined at the hospital, he received the result that he had broken both his right leg and right shoulder blade.

With a broken arm and leg, Bach could not go to school or take notes. He was devastated because he might miss the entrance exam to grade 10, which was in its final stages. This year, Chi Bach hoped to pass his first choice to enter Tay Ho High School.

5 days before the exam started, Bach went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor said that he would need to have a second cast. At that moment, both mother and son burst into tears.

Ms. Van Anh, Bach's mother, immediately called her son's homeroom teacher to inform her of the situation. At 4pm, both mother and son were overwhelmed with joy when they received the news that their son had been given the maximum support to take part in this year's exam.

" The school has completed the procedures to report to the higher management agencies. In Bach's case, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training approved his participation in the 10th grade exam by taking notes for someone else," Ms. Hoang Thi Van Anh, Principal of Nhat Tan Secondary School, told VTC News .

Bach had an 8th grader from Nhat Tan Secondary School take notes for him in this year's 10th grade exam. The two had talked, got to know each other, and practiced how to do the test the day before. As for Chi Bach, when reading the test for his friend to take notes, he had to practice thinking verbally because he couldn't make an outline for the essay himself. This was also a "tough" challenge for the 9th grader. However, both of them completed the first exam with quite good coordination.

In the afternoon, Bach continued to receive support from his friends to complete the Foreign Language test in 60 minutes.

Tomorrow morning, June 11, candidates will complete the final exam, Math, in 120 minutes, starting at 8am. According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, this year, 7 candidates with broken arms and legs are eligible for support. The support testing sites ensure conditions for candidates to participate in the 10th grade entrance exam according to their wishes and regulations.

This year, the whole city of Hanoi has more than 129,000 students graduating from secondary school. Of which, 104,917 candidates registered their first choice to enter public grade 10 (an increase of 1,000 candidates compared to last year), the average competition ratio is 1/1.79. Last year, the competition ratio to enter public grade 10 was 1 to 1.67 on average and in 2021 it is 1 to 1.61. Thus, the competition ratio to enter grade 10 this year is expected to be the highest in the past three years.
