All will be recreated at the 6th "Nam Giang Gong Echoes" festival, taking place from June 25-26. With the theme "Nam Giang - Sparkling cultural colors", the festival is expected to bring visitors unique and interesting experiences, through cultural performances, especially excerpts of the village-building land worshiping rituals of the Co Tu people, the new rice celebration of the Ta Rieng people, the traditional wedding ceremony of the Ve people...
Many new features
Held every two years, the Nam Giang Gong Festival has gradually become familiar to locals and tourists on their journey to explore Ben Giang.
After careful preparation, this year, the festival is expected to have unique new features, recreating the cultural space imbued with the colors of the highlands to visitors.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Nam Giang district said that with the advantage of being a long-standing residential area of indigenous ethnic minorities such as Co Tu, Ve, Ta Rieng..., in the story of this festival, in addition to performing superficial cultural activities, the locality cherishes the re-enactment of a deep cultural space following the "source" of mountain life, creating a new, impressive and interesting perspective.
“Regarding space, we use natural materials to vividly recreate traditional village houses of ethnic minorities. Reducing boring competition activities, this year we focus on many performance contents, choosing unique stories to recreate the most original cultural space.
With careful and elaborate preparation from artisans, the performances of gongs and drums combined with traditional costumes, sculptures, brocade weaving, etc. are expected to bring unique experiences to tourists and the community," Mr. Hung shared.

Throughout the festival, in addition to the night market, cultural performances will be recreated, promising to bring a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, through excerpts of traditional rituals of the Co Tu, Ve, and Ta Rieng people.
These traditional rituals were collected, surveyed and consulted with village elders and prestigious people to complete the script and restore it in accordance with the original traditions of the community.
“In recent days, in addition to actively participating in practicing performing arts programs, artisans in Nam Giang have always been present to support the construction of traditional houses, along with 30 agricultural product stalls serving the night market in response to the most anticipated cultural festival ever,” Mr. Hung added.

Contribute to cultural preservation
This year's Nam Giang Gong Festival is held at a time when the locality is preparing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Nam Giang District Party Committee (June 28, 1949 - June 28, 2024).
This is considered a meaningful event to concretize the task of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities throughout the district according to the objectives set forth in the Resolution of the 20th District Party Congress.
Mr. Chau Van Ngo - Vice Chairman of Nam Giang District People's Committee said that the "Echo of Gongs" festival is not outside the local political task, especially the work of preserving and promoting the traditional values of the Co Tu, Ve, and Ta Rieng people.
This is also an opportunity for the locality to introduce and promote the potential and strengths in cultural and tourism development of the mountainous locality of Nam Giang to tourists.
After 5 times of organization, the festival has become a prominent event of the district, leaving a good impression on the people and tourists, contributing to promoting the goal of preserving and promoting the unique cultural values of ethnic minorities.

As a gathering of the colors of the highlands, the Nam Giang Gong Festival begins the journey to restore values that are at risk of fading away, aiming to form unique tourism products, through the unique cultural forms that have been and are being preserved.
“According to the design, inside each traditional stilt house are displayed historical and cultural artifacts and typical products of each mountainous locality, helping visitors to both visit and experience life, and immerse themselves in the cultural life, activities, and production of the ethnic minority community in Nam Giang district and enjoy performances of musical instruments, handmade brocade weaving, sculpture, traditional weaving...
With the main theme of gong and drum dance combined with Dinh Tut, the festival promises to bring the typical colors of life of the people of Nam Giang mountainous region to tourists" - Mr. Ngo said.
“In recent days, in addition to actively participating in practicing performing arts programs, artisans in Nam Giang have always been present to support the construction of traditional houses, along with 30 agricultural product stalls serving the night market in response to the most anticipated cultural festival ever,” Mr. Hung added.
