Reporting to the monitoring delegation, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport - Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh said that, advising on the implementation of the state management function in the field of transport, the Department of Transport has closely coordinated with the Department of Planning and Investment, the consulting unit to complete the transport sector planning plan integrated into the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. The Department coordinated and worked with the Department of Transport of Da Nang City to find solutions and propose plans, so that by the end of April 2024, the two-way bus routes Da Nang - Tam Ky and Da Nang - Hoi An without subsidies will be reopened. According to statistics, Tam Ky - Da Nang buses have 32,000 passengers per month, Hoi An - Da Nang buses have 11,000 passengers per month.

In 2023, the Transport Industry Investment and Development Management Department completed the appraisal of 15 feasibility study reports and technical economic reports. Advised the Provincial People's Committee to approve the adjustment of 9 projects, 3 projects approved by the District People's Committee; the remaining 3 projects had the results of the first appraisal; appraised 14 design documents to be implemented after the basic design.

In the first 6 months of 2024 alone, the sector has completed the appraisal of 14/15 dossiers; including advising and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the Quang Nam Province Adaptive Integrated Development Project (dredging the Truong Giang River). This is a key project, Group A of the province, highly complex, large-scale with a total investment of more than 2,700 billion VND, involving many agencies and units at the central and local levels, so the appraisal takes a lot of time.

Regarding maintenance work, in 2023, the Department of Transport will deploy 11 maintenance projects on national highways (QL) with a total investment of VND 172.4 billion; 7 maintenance projects on provincial roads (DT) with a total investment of VND 112.1 billion. In 2024, the sector will deploy 9 maintenance projects on national highways with a total investment of VND 126.7 billion; 9 maintenance projects on DT routes with a total investment of VND 155.5 billion.

At the meeting, the Department of Transport gave an overview of the implementation of Resolution No. 165 dated July 8, 2020 of the Provincial People's Council on management and maintenance of road infrastructure; implementation of Resolution No. 38/NQ-HDND dated September 17, 2020 of the Provincial People's Council on the Project to solidify the district road system (DH) and rural traffic in the province, period 2021 - 2025; difficulties and obstacles that need to be resolved. The Department of Transport also reported the results of handling voters' recommendations in the field of transport under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee related to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, National Highway 14D, National Highway 24C, bridges on DT609, route DT606...

At the meeting, the members of the monitoring delegation highly appreciated the efforts and responsibilities of the Department of Transport in performing related tasks; typically, guiding the district level to appraise documents, coordinating the reorganization of bus routes into Da Nang city, ensuring traffic safety. Some members also gave their opinions to the Department of Transport on the implementation of the project to solidify the University, rural traffic, investment plans for bridges on DT609, management of road safety corridors, focusing on inland waterways, etc.
