On the morning of January 5, the People's Committee of Long An province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the provincial road 822B project in Duc Hoa and Duc Hue districts. The Duc Hoa section is expected to be completed in March 2026 and the Duc Hue section in July 2026.

The route is more than 11km long, starting at the intersection with provincial road 825 (Tan My commune, Duc Hoa district) to National Highway N2 to Ho Chi Minh City and the Western provinces.
The end point is adjacent to provincial road 838 at Ong Duong intersection, My Thanh Bac commune, Duc Hue district, connecting to My Quy Tay national border gate through Cambodia.
Total investment is over 918 billion VND, central government support capital is 300 billion, the rest is local budget source.
Provincial Road 822B, part of the Duc Hoa dynamic axis route, when completed will contribute to completing and synchronizing the traffic network of Long An province, in accordance with the province's planning.

This new route will create clean land for renovation, expansion, accelerating industrial and urban development, attracting investment capital to create a lever for socio-economic development for Duc Hue and Duc Hoa districts.
Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan, Director of Long An Department of Transport, said that the project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will build a level IV plain road with a 7m wide asphalt concrete surface. The completion phase will invest according to the planning of 6 lanes, with a 30m wide roadbed.
On the route, small and medium bridges will be built across existing canals and streams, and a large bridge will be built across the Vam Co Dong River with a bridge deck width of 13m. The main span will be made of reinforced concrete and constructed using the balanced cantilever method.
According to Mr. Tuan, on route 822B, there is a bridge across the Vam Co Dong River that was started in April 2023, constructed by the Hop Thanh - Bac Trung Nam joint venture, with a total investment of more than 325 billion VND.
After 20 months of construction, the contractors have achieved 80% progress and will close the bridge this morning. It is expected that the entire bridge will be completed by April 30 this year.
