According to the Organizing Committee, Vietship 2025 is a place to gather and display the most advanced technologies in the fields of shipbuilding, ship repair, marine equipment, marine construction and offshore engineering supply. At the same time, it is a place to create cooperation opportunities and innovative solutions in the development of the maritime and offshore energy industries.
It is no coincidence that the exhibition is held in the capital Hanoi. Strategically located in the key economic region of the North, connecting to major seaports such as Hai Phong Port and Cai Lan Port (Quang Ninh) via roads, railways and inland waterways, Hanoi is not only a policy coordination center, an important logistics hub and a technology research center, but also an indispensable "link" in the supply chain of goods and maritime transport in Vietnam.
Opportunity for cooperation in developing green cruise between Vietnam and Norway
Notably, among the exhibition booths at Vietship 2025, the Norwegian Embassy in Vietnam organized a booth introducing leading Norwegian companies with many innovative initiatives and advanced solutions in the green maritime industry.
Norway is a shipping nation with a long history and is currently leading the greening trend in the global maritime sector.
The Norwegian maritime industry cluster is considered one of the most comprehensive in the world, encompassing all relevant actors such as shipping lines, brokerage companies, insurance and financial services, classification societies, shipyards, marine equipment manufacturers, maritime education, maritime research and development (R&D), comprehensive mariculture ecosystems, maritime authorities, employers and non-governmental organizations.
Not only that, Norway is also world-renowned for its expertise and sustainable maritime solutions, and the entire maritime cluster is working hard to reduce the industry's carbon emissions.
Sharing with reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Hilde Solbakken said that Norwegian enterprises participating in Vietship 2025 are typical representatives of Norway's maritime industry cluster. |

Norwegian businesses will introduce advanced solutions in maritime technology, and share, exchange and seek opportunities to expand their business networks with partners, including Vietnamese businesses, for the goal of green development and carbon emission reduction of the maritime industry in Vietnam and globally.
“The shipping industry currently accounts for around 3% of global emissions. In July 2023, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) took an important step by adopting a strategy that sets an ambitious target of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions from international shipping to zero by 2050.
In addition to promoting bilateral trade cooperation, maritime is also a potential field for businesses of both Vietnam and Norway. Not only that, both countries are members of IMO and green maritime will soon open up new opportunities for the business community of both sides to cooperate with each other, creating new jobs for many workers" - Ambassador Hilde Solbakken introduced and informed.

Norway has companies that design, build, operate and trade ships; companies that manufacture equipment, from engines and propulsion systems to ship-related software programs...
With these strengths, cooperation with Norway will help Vietnam develop sustainably in the field of fisheries as well as maritime-related fields.
