On the evening of November 24, the authorities of Tra Tap commune, Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province, said that a landslide had just occurred in the commune, damaging a school.
Accordingly, in the afternoon of the same day, heavy rain caused a large amount of soil and rock from the positive slope behind Rang Chuoi school (village 1, Tra Tap commune) to fall down, collapsing a large wall. It then flooded into the classroom, damaging many desks, chairs, and school supplies of the students.
Fortunately, at the time of the landslide, there were no people at the school so there were no casualties.

According to the People's Committee of Tra Tap Commune, the previous rain caused a landslide on the hill behind the school. The authorities moved students and teachers to the old school (made of wood) to wait for the construction of a solid embankment for the new school. However, the landslide became larger and larger, with rocks and soil continuously flowing down, making the recovery process difficult.
Up to now, a huge amount of rock and soil has collapsed the wall of this school.
Rang Chuoi School was inaugurated in September 2024 with a total construction cost of more than 1.4 billion VND sponsored by benefactors. The project has a total area of nearly 200m2, including 2 classrooms, 1 dormitory, kitchen, toilet, playground, and fence.
The new school has 35 preschool and primary school students, replacing the temporary school that had been degraded.
