(NADS) - Hoang Su Phi is a remote mountainous district in the North of Ha Giang province. The district has 12 communes, 1 town and is also a place where 12 ethnic groups live together in solidarity: Kinh, Dao, Tay, Mong, La, Chi...
Economically, Hoang Su Phi district is a poor mountainous district. Economic life mainly depends on one rice crop, tea cultivation, livestock and poultry raising: buffalo, cows, goats, pigs, chickens... The district has more than 3,600 hectares of terraced fields, of which about 1,380 hectares are terraced fields spread across 11 communes. It is worth noting that in December 2011, the terraced fields and scenic spots of the district were recognized as Vietnamese Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The main harvest season of the district is from mid-September to mid-October. Coming here, we will see golden rice fields on terraced fields running one after another on the endless, winding mountain slopes, stretching heavily to the horizon. Looming on the mountain slopes are stilt houses or rice guard huts. All, all seem to blend together into endless golden carpets, majestic and poetic.
Faced with the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of this golden season, tourists, especially professional and amateur photographers, can only press the shutter "continuously" to capture with their lenses all the golden season of this northern highland region and bring it down to the lowlands to make it their "own". In that atmosphere, in the 2019 harvest season, I was also fortunate to work with some colleagues with the indigenous people here, in some villages of Hoang Su Phi such as: Nam Ty, Peo village, Phung village, Luoc village... Contacting the people in the villages, I realized that they are hardworking, simple farmers, who love to work and are very hospitable.
On this working trip, I would like to send to readers - who have not or have not had the opportunity to visit Hoang Su Phi - some pictures of this harvest season for viewing and reference.
The author of the article hopes that the economy and tourism industry of Hoang Su Phi will continue to grow and develop in the coming time. And also hopes that the traffic route from Tan Quang intersection (from Highway 2) to Hoang Su Phi town (Vinh Quang) will be "taken over" by the Provincial and Ministry levels in the coming time, in order to upgrade and renovate, so that traffic to the district center will be easier and more convenient than it is now.
