It is expected that from April 17, Vietnam Airlines flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don will be transferred to Terminal T3.

Vietnam Airlines Corporation also informed about the plan to transfer operations between terminals. It is expected that from April 17, the airline's flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don will be transferred to Terminal T3. By the end of April, all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines will officially transfer to Terminal T3, except for flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao, Ca Mau , Rach Gia which will continue to operate at Terminal T1.

Currently, the entrance to Terminal T3 is located on 18E and C2 Street, Ward 12, Tan Binh District. At Terminal T3, Vietnam Airlines check-in counters are located on the 3rd floor. Electronic boards and signs will help passengers move quickly and conveniently.

At the same time, the Department of Transport and Public Works has also reviewed and developed a plan to divide and regulate traffic to ensure connection with Terminal T3.

Accordingly, the operation of Terminal T3 during the April 30 holiday will help relieve passengers and reduce pressure on Tan Son Nhat Airport.

The Department of Transport and Public Works also forecasts that Tan Son Nhat International Airport will have an average throughput of 120,000 passengers/day (an increase of 10% compared to the same period in 2024). The Department will work with taxi transport businesses to ensure means of transporting passengers at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Ho Chi Minh City is also ready to serve, as well as increase trips on bus routes 152, 103, 109, 721 and bus routes connecting to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

In addition, the Department of Transport and Public Works is also actively working with Tan Son Nhat International Airport to soon arrange new, modern bus routes connecting to Terminal T3 as soon as possible to meet the travel needs of passengers during this holiday.

For more information, the representative of the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works in Ho Chi Minh City said that the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project in Tan Binh District is currently being urgently implemented to complete the final stages to be ready for traffic opening on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. In particular, the Tran Quoc Hoan connecting road project will be opened to traffic synchronously with Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat Airport.

The two projects, when completed synchronously, will help reduce the load on the current connecting routes to Tan Son Nhat airport. At the same time, it will also reduce the overload situation at Tan Son Nhat airport when Terminal T3 is put into service.

Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has a capacity of 20 million passengers/year with a scale of 1 basement and 4 floors above ground, a total construction floor area of ​​112,500 m2 and a high-rise parking lot combined with services.

With a scale of 90 airline check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage check-in counters and 42 automatic check-in counters, applying the latest technology combined with the national population database to implement procedures. Next to the terminal, there are 27 aircraft gates (including 13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates; 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands; 25 passenger security control gates.
