According to Tesla's manual, the blind spot indicator is located on the driver's side door. If a vehicle is in the car's blind spot, a red light will illuminate.
Vehicle owners can easily turn the blind spot indicator on or off via the touchscreen.
Previously, Tesla vehicles displayed vehicles and objects in their blind spots on the screen using colors that were generated by the car’s animation. White indicated objects that were far away, not within close range of the vehicle, while yellow, orange, and red appeared in turn as the object got closer.
These colors will not appear when the vehicle is traveling slower than 12 km/h or faster than 140 km/h.

For blind spot issues, Tesla has also installed an audible warning system that can be activated along with the blind spot camera when the indicator light is on or via the camera icon in the on-screen menu.
In addition to blind spot indicators, the Model 3 also features new side doors that improve protection in side impacts.
This is not only a new safety criterion for Tesla sedans, but also helps the Model 3 to successfully complete the ANCAP test, surpassing the 5-star rating that Tesla's Model Y received in the 2022 European Car Safety Assessment Program (Euro NCAP).
