The lighting layout is also different, with slim, high-set LED daytime running lights that look like the sharp eyes of a hawk, while the three-element headlights create a 3D effect. The horizontal T-shaped taillights.

Interior photos show two rotary knobs on the control screen, and in the center area another rotary knob for selecting driving modes (2H, 4H, 4HLc and 4LLc), along with a handbrake. The clocks may be digital.

Technical specifications are still being kept under wraps by Mitsubishi, but the Triton is said to use a new ladder-frame chassis system shared with the Nissan Navara but significantly upgraded. The engine could be a 2.4-liter, DOHC, turbodiesel 4N16 instead of the current 4N15 engine version.
