Designed to provide powerful, accurate and effective firepower in military campaigns, this system represents a significant step forward for the Vietnamese defense industry, while demonstrating the country's ambition to enhance its defense autonomy.

Chemical Engineering Company 13 (General Department of Defense Industry) attracted attention when launching a completely new 70mm rocket launcher system.

According to information announced at the exhibition, the 70mm rocket launcher system is integrated on light vehicles such as pickup trucks, with a compact design consisting of 40 1,000mm long launch tubes, allowing rockets to be fired at high speed. Depending on combat requirements, the system can fire individually, in short bursts or continuously launch all 40 rockets within just 20 seconds. The overall size of the launcher is 1,200mm x 1,200mm, weighing less than 600kg when empty, ensuring high mobility and easy integration on modern vehicles.

The system is capable of 360-degree rotation, with a maximum rotation speed of 10 degrees per second, and an elevation angle ranging from 0° to 45°. Combat-ready deployment takes only 3 minutes, while the reload time for all 40 missiles is only 4 to 6 minutes. With a minimum crew of one commander and one operator, all controls are performed from the control panel inside the cabin, ensuring safety and efficiency in a variety of combat situations.

The 70mm rocket launcher system is integrated on light vehicles such as pickup trucks, with a compact design consisting of 40 1,000 mm long launch tubes, allowing rockets to be fired at high speed.

The 70mm rockets that come with the system are 950mm to 975mm long, weigh around 10kg, and have a warhead weighing between 4kg and 4.5kg. Equipped with an explosive fragmentation warhead, the rockets use either an impact or timed fuze, capable of destroying targets within a range of 5 to 7km. These specifications enable the system to flexibly fulfill military missions ranging from destroying fortifications to neutralizing enemy infantry.

According to Army Recognition, compared to international competitors such as the Czech Republic's RM-70 or the 122mm launcher system that requires heavy vehicles, Vietnam's 70mm rocket launcher stands out thanks to its compact design and superior mobility. Integrated on light vehicles, this system not only reduces operating costs but also better meets the needs of operations in complex terrain or asymmetric battlefields. With 40 launch tubes, the system still ensures effective area saturation without requiring complex logistics vehicles.

Depending on combat requirements, the system can fire single shots, fire in short bursts or continuously launch all 40 missiles within just 20 seconds.

Its deployment flexibility, rapid rate of fire and short reload time enhance the ability to react to unexpected situations.
