Mister Vietnam season 1's mark and season 2's criteria changes
In 2019, the Mister Vietnam season 1 contest organized by Leading Media opened a playground exclusively for Vietnamese men. Mister Vietnam determined the criteria not to find handsome men but to find typical models for modern Vietnamese men, both handsome in appearance and dynamic, with a kind heart, loving community activities, becoming factors spreading positive things to society.

The co-champions of Mister Vietnam season 1 are Pham Dinh Linh (Hanoi) and Pham Minh Quyen (Dong Nai). The first runner-up is Tran Quang Thang (Quang Tri), the second runner-up is Le Huu Dat (Hai Phong) and Nguyen Hoai Nam (Hanoi). Vietnam has won 3 contests and they all come from Leading Media: Mister Global 2021 - Mister Global Danh Chieu Linh, Mister International 2018 Trinh Bao, Manhunt International 2017 - Truong Ngoc Tinh.

The Mister Vietnam contest was officially approved to be held from October 2023, but the Final will take place in 2024. Training expert Phuc Nguyen - Chairman of the Mister Vietnam contest explained that this was the intention of the Organizing Committee (OC) of the Mister Vietnam contest. Mister Vietnam is not just a contest to find beautiful and suitable candidates, but a journey to search, discover, train and develop the most outstanding and outstanding candidates, suitable for the criteria of the contest.

Mister Vietnam season 2 is a journey of "transformation", turning the impossible into possible for contestants with imperfect bodies and skills, helping them become the most perfect version of themselves.

Contestants with imperfect bodies, fat or thin, skilled or not, just need to have standard height... can boldly register to participate. According to the Organizing Committee, the criteria for this year's Mister Vietnam contest have also changed a lot. Five years ago, the contest set the criteria to find a model who simply had a beautiful body and outstanding height. However, this year, the criteria for the contest have changed according to world trends.
Mister Vietnam aims to find more versatile candidates, not only good at one field, but also possessing great potential in other fields. A dynamic, versatile young man is the image of a new-age youth, always knowing how to promote his own strengths.
The Mister Vietnam Organizing Committee also added that with these new points, the scoring criteria for Mister Vietnam this year will be the average score of the following factors: height, body shape, level, talent and active social activities... The height factor is not as important as in previous years.
In particular, in season 2, the age of contestants has also been increased from 18-32 years old. The organizers said that the increased age is also in line with other male contests in the world. According to director Minh Khoi, the age of 18-32 is the most beautiful age for a man, and also the age when a man is in the process of perfecting his maturity. The organizers of Mister Vietnam hope to accompany the contestants in that process.
