MC Thanh Trung: I am equal to Xuan Bac plus Tu Long divided in half

Participating in the program "Brother overcoming thousands of obstacles", MC Thanh Trung reunited with People's Artist Tu Long and told about a special fate.

People's Artist Tu Long and MC Thanh Trung signed up for the show "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai". After that, Thanh Trung shared on his personal page a video of his performance of a skit on the show "Gap nhau cuoi tuan with People's Artist Tu Long" which surprised the audience.

Nearly 20 years have passed, many people may have forgotten but Thanh Trung was once a potential comedian, expected to continue the generation of Tu Long and Xuan Bac.

During the period 2004 - 2014, Thanh Trung was a famous comedian, regularly appearing in "Tao Quan" with roles such as Health Tao, Farmer Tao, Planning Tao... He was also a familiar face when the program "Gap nhau cuoi tuan" was still on air.

Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Thanh Trung said he admired the talent of People's Artist Tu Long. The male MC confided: "To be more precise, those who know us all say that 'Thanh Trung is equal to Xuan Bac plus Tu Long divided in half'.

When I got to step onto the stage of Meet at the Weekend, Meet at the End of the Year, for me it was a dream come true. From being an extra, performing at crossroads, performing propaganda, then appearing on Tao Quan, I never dared to dream of it in my life."

Thanh Trung and his two seniors were once called a trio of comedians who worked well together and always showed their closeness and attachment.

In 2017, when Thanh Trung got married for the second time, Tu Long and Xuan Bac Hai went on stage to witness Thanh Trung and his wife signing a "marriage contract" with humorous terms.

In 2021, when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out complicatedly, Thanh Trung, on behalf of a group of artists including Tu Long and Xuan Bac, stood up to receive donations from friends and audiences to support the Community Vaccine Fund.

Recalling his memories of his youth, Thanh Trung said that it was Xuan Bac who brought him to the MC profession when he was pursuing a career as a comedian.

MC Thanh Trung revealed that after the show "Weekend Meeting" stopped airing, he realized that being an actor is difficult and not enough to make a living.

When looking for a new direction, Thanh Trung decided to pursue a career as a program host to still have access to art and cultural programs.

"Mr. Xuan Bac was not the one who brought me to "Gap nhau cuoi tuan" but he was the one who guided and helped me become an MC. In 2003, Mr. Xuan Bac called me and told me to try being an MC at a famous music cafe at that time.

That's where Xuan Bac and Tu Long first became famous. Later, when I became a TV MC, whenever I encountered difficulties, I always sought advice from Xuan Bac," Thanh Trung confided about People's Artist Xuan Bac.

When he switched to MC, his name became more famous. He became familiar to audiences when hosting many shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Harmony of Light, The Voice Kids, X-Factor, etc.

Therefore, many audiences were surprised when Thanh Trung appeared on "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai". Having graduated from the University of Theatre and Cinema, famous for his comedy roles, and becoming famous as an MC, Thanh Trung is now trying his hand at singing and performing.

The male MC said that his wife and children are a solid support system that helps him confidently step out, and is the source of motivation for him to "do things he has never done before".

In the first solo round, Thanh Trung impressed with his performance of the song "Warm Wind Scarf". He was also the MC for the internal activities of the 33 "talents" and was elected class president among the group of artists participating in the show.

Even though Thanh Trung's reputation and number of fans are considered inferior to some other artists, the male MC considers himself a factor that can cause surprise.

"In the playground, there are many famous artists, they pamper and spend a lot of time with their fans, it's normal for me to be at a disadvantage. But I'm happy because my job is MC, stepping back and helping others shine. I think I've done my job right, in my right position.

Every game has rules, and the rules create excitement for the audience. When participating in the game, my colleagues and I accept the rules of the show. No matter who is eliminated, even me, I will happily accept it."
