Add warm flames
As the Lunar New Year is approaching, the program “Leave no one behind” is being implemented by Vietnam Social Security in many localities. With the desire to contribute more warmth to encourage patients to overcome their illnesses, especially during the traditional Tet holiday – an occasion for family reunion.
Accordingly, in Yen Bai province, Vietnam Social Security directly presented 69 social insurance books and 820 health insurance cards with a total value of 1 billion 280 million VND to people affected by storm Yagy. At the event, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Security Le Hung Son emphasized that the sharing of the social insurance sector with the desire to contribute to adding warm flames, lighting up faith and hope in life for patients, for a safe and happy Tet.

Implementing the program in Quang Nam, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Security Tran Dinh Lieu and the delegation presented 30 gifts to 30 health insurance patients with difficult circumstances who are being treated at Quang Nam Regional General Hospital. At the same time, 4 gifts were presented to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs, and families of meritorious people in Quang Nam province.
Many patients expressed their emotions at the gifts given by the Vietnam Social Security sector during the upcoming Lunar New Year. Representing the patients who received gifts from Quang Nam - Mr. Hoa Dong Dung was moved and sincerely thanked the gifts from the Vietnam Social Security. " The gift is not only meaningful in terms of material value, but also a great sharing and encouragement for patients like us, making us feel warm and motivated to overcome difficulties caused by illness soon" - Mr. Dung expressed.
For a sustainable and humane society
Caring for people in difficult circumstances during Tet is a beautiful tradition that has been maintained by the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the entire social insurance system of Vietnam for many years.
In particular, in the past 4 years, on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year, Vietnam Social Security has maintained the organization of the program "No one is left behind" and brought a warm Tet to health insurance patients in difficult circumstances who had to stay in the hospital for treatment during the Lunar New Year.
From June 2024, Vietnam Social Security has issued a plan to organize the program "Leave no one behind" including a series of activities such as giving social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances; giving gifts to disadvantaged patients with health insurance cards who have to be treated in the hospital during the Lunar New Year.
The program was launched nationwide, mobilizing the contributions of organizations, individuals and the social community, with a total of nearly 12,000 social insurance books and more than 141,000 health insurance cards. The entire Vietnam Social Insurance sector has presented more than 3,600 gifts to patients with health insurance cards who have to be treated in hospitals. This has contributed to spreading the humane, humanitarian and sharing social insurance and health insurance policies to the people and the community.
General Director of Vietnam Social Security Nguyen The Manh emphasized that the program not only brings emotional gifts but also contains the power of consensus, solidarity and love. "Let's spread beautiful actions together, so that this Tet is not only a joy of reunion but also solidarity for a sustainable, humane society" - Mr. Nguyen The Manh said.
According to information from Vietnam Social Security, in the past time, this industry has always accompanied the medical industry and hospitals to ensure the best benefits for participants in health insurance examination and treatment, serving and caring for patients. In 2024, Vietnam Social Security coordinated well with the Ministry of Health to serve more than 186 million inpatient and outpatient health insurance examinations and treatments with the amount of money requested to be paid from the health insurance fund of nearly 143,000 billion VND.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Social Security, to date, the country has 95.52 million people participating in health insurance, covering 94.2% of the population. In 2024, the country will have more than 186 million people receiving inpatient and outpatient health insurance treatment (an increase of more than 12.2 million people compared to the same period in 2023); with the proposed payment amount of nearly VND 142,985 billion. |
