Save the great moments

The radiant photos of each Christmas season are memorable memories that young people will cherish forever.

Growing up when the internet was widely developed and technology devices were so popular, I thought that taking photos was a normal daily habit for Gen Z. However, photos during the Christmas season always have a special meaning for me. In a dynamic city like Ho Chi Minh City, the last days of the year are even more vibrant and colorful. Although I still love Tet and always look forward to the coming of Spring, most of my friends go back to their hometowns to reunite with their families during that long holiday, so for me, Christmas is the ideal time for dating and gathering. For many years now, from when I was a student to when I started working, the whole group of friends have arranged to take photos together.

Dressing up in beautiful outfits, usually warm reds or bright greens, walking together in the downtown area was a gentle yet exciting experience. The weather in December was very pleasant, temporarily putting aside the daily pressures of young people, temporarily forgetting the stumbles and emotional wounds of our twenties, we chatted and posed together in pleasant settings.

Public places and shops are meticulously decorated with sparkling Christmas decorations and many new highlights. Not all Gen Zs go out to take photos to "live virtually", and they do not necessarily have to be at famous places to check in on social networks. Many young people prefer depth over noisy, hasty interactions. We do not share many photos on digital platforms but carefully store them on hard drives. Those who are far from home are excited to send photos to their relatives.

As time goes by, every time we look back at the Christmas photos, we are happy because we were together in those beautiful, dream-filled moments of youth. That is also the motivation for young people to love themselves and life more, and to move forward steadily.
