The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training is responsible for compiling the content of the survey, organizing the supervision and grading of the 6th grade survey at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School. Based on the survey results, the Department will consider from high to low until the quota is met. Students who do not pass the 6th grade exam at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will still be considered for 6th grade according to the regulations of the enrollment steering committee of districts in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, according to Project No. 2653/DA-SGDĐT in 2024 of the Department of Education and Training on reorganizing Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted into Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, in which the enrollment roadmap for the 2025-2026 school year of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School states that the enrollment target for grade 6 of this school is 350 students, stable as in the 2024-2025 school year.

It is known that at this stage, the Department of Education and Training is developing a plan for primary school enrollment, including calculating and balancing enrollment targets for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and grade 10 at public schools. It is expected to be announced in early April.

As Thanh Nien reported, the leader of the Department of Education and Training informed yesterday (March 28) that the 6th grade assessment of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School for the new school year will be conducted in June, earlier than last year (early July 2024).

The above adjustment of time is to ensure that the enrollment work at the primary level is on schedule and appropriate in the context that the whole country is implementing the arrangement and merger of provinces and cities, and completing the district-level tasks according to Conclusion 127-KL/TW dated February 28, 2025 of the Politburo and the Secretariat on implementing research and proposing to continue to arrange the organization of the political system.

Based on this general plan, the Department of Education and Training is also calculating a plan to organize a survey to assess students' abilities to enroll in grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School for the 2025-2026 school year in accordance with the actual situation.

Thus, it is expected that the Department of Education and Training will choose a date within the period after the end of the 10th grade entrance exam and before the high school graduation exam.

Every year, the 6th grade exam at Tran Dai Nghia School usually takes place on July 4th with about 4,000 students participating. This is considered a 6th grade exam with higher competition than some universities, the "competition" ratio usually fluctuates around 1/8.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training informed that in the 2025-2026 school year, admission to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and some local secondary schools can be conducted based on a combination of 2 criteria including training and learning results in primary school years and capacity assessment survey results. In which, local secondary schools must simultaneously meet 2 requirements: Having a number of candidates registering exceeding the enrollment quota in recent years and being proposed by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and counties. The remaining secondary schools conduct admission based on training and learning results at primary school level and use data from GIS maps to serve the allocation of students, in which the enrollment areas of the schools are decided by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and counties according to the actual situation in the locality.
