Director of the Department of Fisheries Tran Dinh Luan shared the difficulties and heavy losses that cage fish farmers encountered and emphasized that Hai Duong is one of the provinces that suffered heavy losses in fisheries.
The leaders of the Department of Fisheries encouraged and guided people on measures to overcome the damage such as collecting and treating dead fish to avoid environmental pollution; reinforcing and cleaning the mooring system, buoys; regularly checking water level, water color and environmental factors... to soon return to normal production activities. If the weather conditions are unusual, it is necessary to increase the amount of oxygen, supplement vitamin C to increase the resistance of the fish...
On this occasion, the Aquaculture Research Institute 1 also measured and evaluated the water environment in the fish cage farming area of Hai Duong. The results showed that the indicators were close to meeting the standards, but the oxygen level was only 3.5 - 3.8 mg/l, lower than the standard.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development continues to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to support and connect consumption for cage fish farming households to reduce damage and soon stabilize production.
Hai Duong is one of the provinces that suffered heavy damage from storm No. 3. Regarding aquaculture, according to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the whole province has about 560 hectares of aquaculture flooded, more than 430 fish cages flooded, broken, and drifted.
