According to the plan, Legends Tour will be present in Vietnam in December this year with a tournament with a prize fund of 1 million USD. This is a system that gathers veterans over 50 years old, who have achieved high achievements and won prestigious majors as well as the Ryder Cup such as Michael Campell, Ian Woosnam, Thomas Bjorn, Paul McGinley, Sir Nick Faldo, Colin Mongomeries. In the current structure of professional golf in Europe, Legends Tour is a branch under the organization that manages the first-class arena DP World Tour (the new name of the European Tour).
VGS Group announced at the new brand identity announcement ceremony
The presence of Legends Tour in Vietnam later this year will be the first shot for prestigious top tournaments in the future, such as the first-class DP World Tour, Asia's peer Asian Tour and its branch - Asian Development Tour (ADT) in 2024 and 2025. All of these tournaments will be hosted by VGS.
For the past two years, VGS Group has been the operating partner of the tournament on ADT - BRG Open Golf Championship 2022 as well as the 2023 tournament with the implementation schedule from August 31 to September 2. This year, the event's prize fund reached 100,000 USD, an increase of 25,000 USD compared to the previous period.
The plan to bring a series of international professional tournaments to Vietnam was announced by VGS Group at the ceremony to announce a new brand identity to suit the new development period, which took place on July 17. The group is on the way to building a leading ecosystem not only in golf but also in sports in general according to international standards.
