Flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 79th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day September 2

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945-2024), on the morning of August 19, Co To district organized a flag raising ceremony and offered incense and flowers at the special national relic of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site on Co To island.

Attending the flag-raising ceremony were artists from the Music Department of Voice of Vietnam, officials, people and armed forces of Co To district.

In a sacred and respectful atmosphere, the delegation laid wreaths, offered incense, and observed a minute of silence to commemorate and pay tribute to the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and the construction and protection of the Fatherland.

79 years ago, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. National Day September 2, 1945 opened a new era - the era of independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people.

Co To is the only place where President Ho Chi Minh allowed to erect a statue of him during his lifetime. The historical relic of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site on Co To Island is a type of memorial relic of a famous person recognized by the Prime Minister as a Special National Monument in 2022. The relic has become a venue for many major cultural activities of the government and people of Co To Island. This is also a place to organize activities about the origin, aiming to enhance patriotism, national pride and love, gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh of the young generation.
