Le Quang Liem ranked 3rd overall in the chess tournament in the US.

In the final round of the blitz chess competition on the morning of November 19 (Vietnam time), Le Quang Liem played impressively. In the 9 decisive blitz chess games, the Vietnamese player won 5, drew 3 and lost only one game.

Le Quang Liem lost the game to grandmaster Sevian Samuel (American). With 6.5 points, Quang Liem was also the player with the best result in the second round of the blitz chess event. Combined with the record of 4 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses in the first round, Quang Liem earned 11 points in the blitz chess event.

In the total results of the two rapid and blitz chess events, Le Quang Liem achieved 20 points and finished in third place. Vietnam's number one player tied for third place with Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) with 20 points each.

Finishing first and second place in the Saint Louis 2023 rapid and blitz chess tournament were Caruana Fabiano (USA, 21.5 points) and Maxime Vachier Lagrave (France, 20.5 points), respectively.

After this tournament, 6 out of 10 players participating in the St Louis tournament will stay in the US to continue playing the Sinquefield Cup standard chess tournament, however Quang Liem will not be present.
