Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Trung was elected President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation.

Today (November 29), the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation, term V (2024-2029), took place. The Congress elected Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Trung as Chairman and 4 Vice Chairmen including: Mr. Dao Viet Anh, Mr. Lam Minh Chau, Ms. Tran Thi My Dieu and Mr. Truong Duc Chien (also Secretary General). In the previous term, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Trung was Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation. He is also the current Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chess Federation.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Trung delivered a speech accepting the position of President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation for the 5th term (2024-2029).

The new President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation, Nguyen Phuoc Trung, said that the goal in the new term is to promote the widespread chess practice movement according to the policy of socialization, contributing to improving the physical and intellectual health of Vietnamese people; strengthen the development of members and clubs, improve cultural and spiritual life, build a solid foundation for the development of sports talents in the community; improve the professionalism of the Federation's Executive Committee, promote socialization, mobilize social resources to develop chess sustainably in Ho Chi Minh City; maintain the leading position in high achievements in national and international competitions...

During the 5th term, the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation will coordinate with other units to organize the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation Open Chess Tournament - Phuong Trang Cup, the 10th HDBank International Chess Tournament, the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Chess Club Tournament, and the monthly high-quality Elo Chess Tournament.

Vietnam's No. 1 chess player Le Quang Liem also attended the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation Congress this time but did not join the Executive Committee.
