It is known that the gold-plated trophy of the KPNest chess tournament is 32 cm high, with a base of 7 cm. The highlight of the trophy is the central chess piece which is cast in one piece and plated in gold. Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Truyen, General Director of KPNest Bird's Nest Development Joint Stock Company, Head of the organizing committee of the KPNest chess tournament shared: "Right from the time of the intention to organize the tournament, in addition to the large cash prize of 50 million VND for the championship of each table (a total of 12 tables), the organizing committee also thought about how to have a meaningful souvenir. Especially for children who do not fully understand the meaning of money, this gold-plated trophy will be one of the priceless souvenirs".
Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Truyen said that the idea of a pair of swallow wings embracing the king was incorporated into the cup by the team with the hope of giving wings to Vietnamese chess talents to fly high and far. In addition, gold is a symbol of fire, aspiration and luck, success and prosperity, so the organizing committee also sends faith, motivation and luck to Vietnamese players in their journey to conquer glory, making Vietnamese chess famous in the international arena.

Also today, the KPNest chess tournament organizers have finalized the list of athletes participating in the KPNest chess tournament. Accordingly, the tournament attracted more than 630 players, including international players from Croatia, Morocco, France, the Philippines, but the largest number was still the host Vietnam. The players competed in 12 groups, including 6 groups for men and 6 groups for women. In each group, the players played 15 games with points according to the Swiss system, 3+2 blitz chess format (3 minutes for each player, plus 2 seconds after each move).
Vietnam's No. 1 chess player Le Quang Liem will play a friendly match and then compete in the KPNest 2024 chess tournament.
The men's open group promises to be competitive with the participation of most of Vietnam's top players such as Le Quang Liem, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Tuan Minh, Nguyen Huynh Minh Huy, Tran Tuan Minh, Tu Hoang Thong, Bui Vinh, Nguyen Anh Dung, Nguyen Van Huy... In the women's group, there are Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Mai Thi Thanh Huong, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Luong Phuong Hanh, Do Hoang Minh Tho, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung...
The national chess referee training course aims to help referees officiate tournaments, including the upcoming KPNest chess tournament.
To prepare for the tournament to take place successfully, the organizing committee has gradually completed the preparation stages. In which, the professional work and tournament management are organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation. Mr. Hoang Thien, the tournament's Chief Referee, said that the Ho Chi Minh City Chess Federation is currently organizing 3 referee training courses attracting more than 60 participants. Some referees participating in this training course will be on duty at the KPNest chess tournament.
Besides the tournament, the exchange event with Vietnam's number 1 player, 2013 World Blitz Chess Champion Le Quang Liem on November 30 at The Adora Center also attracted special attention from players, especially young players. Le Quang Liem is expected to compete with 35 players.
