On the afternoon of November 6, the Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province held a press conference to inform about the Culture, Tourism and Southern Cuisine Festival Week associated with the Ok Om Bok festival. This is the biggest festival in Tra Vinh province.
Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province, said that the Ok Om Bok festival of Tra Vinh province is recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and is solemnly organized by the province every year.

This is also an opportunity for Tra Vinh to introduce the cultural characteristics of the Khmer people in particular and the people of the province in general.
This year's Ok Om Bok Festival also has the participation of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.
Notably, 8/17 activities were held at Ba Om Pond Cultural and Tourist Area - a famous scenic spot when mentioning Tra Vinh.
Ao Ba Om is located in Ward 8, Tra Vinh City, with an area of about 150,000m2. The square pond is surrounded by rows of hundreds of years old trees with roots emerging to form strange shapes.

According to Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, during the festival on some peak days, traffic will be temporarily suspended to Ba Om pond area.
"We will also finalize a plan with relevant authorities to ensure security, order and traffic safety in the Ba Om pond area during the festival days," said Mr. Sum.

Tra Vinh people often come to Ba Om pond to cool off and relax.
The hundreds of years old star and oil trees in Ba Om pond have roots protruding from the ground and forming strange shapes.
Ao Ba Om is very spiritually meaningful to the people of Tra Vinh.
During the Ok Om Bok festival, vehicles are not allowed to enter the pond area to ensure traffic safety for tens of thousands of people participating in the biggest festival in Tra Vinh province.
There will be 17 activities in this year's festival. Among them, there are many outstanding activities such as the opening of the cultural and tourism week - Southern Cuisine Festival; Southern cuisine space with a scale of over 30 booths; experiencing the mural road at the Khmer Cultural and Tourism Village of Tra Vinh province; a fair to promote trade, rural industrial products and OCOP of Tra Vinh province with about 300 booths; water puppetry performance; Ngo boat racing...
