At the meeting, representatives of the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and Information and Communications briefly reported on the current situation and orientation for sustainable development of agriculture, rural economy and farmers associated with digital transformation, urbanization and adaptation to climate change; the results of implementing the province's national digital transformation program and online public services in the province. Accordingly, over the past 3 years, with the efforts of the entire political system and the consensus of the people and economic sectors, the agricultural and rural development targets have all been achieved and exceeded by 2023, such as: The average growth rate still reached 5.13%/year, exceeding the target (3-4%/year); the fisheries economy still plays a core role with a structure accounting for 57% of the entire industry; High-tech agriculture has gradually affirmed its role and position with a contribution of 12.13% to the production value of the agricultural sector (only 6% at the beginning of the period), an average growth rate of 32.31%/year; the rate of rural households with clean water for daily life reached 99.73%, exceeding the target of 2025; the targets for new rural construction have ensured progress and quality... Up to now, the situation of water shortage, saltwater intrusion, effective adaptation to climate change and step by step realization of the goals set by the 14th Provincial Party Congress have been fundamentally resolved. Regarding digital transformation, the agricultural sector has deployed the construction of the sector's database such as: Data on plant protection, pesticide management, veterinary management, fishing vessel monitoring with 100% of fishing vessels registered in the province updated on the system, irrigation data, data on forest status maps, forest developments and forest fire warnings, application of automatic irrigation, drip irrigation, automatic feeders, automatic drinkers, etc. in crop and livestock farming.

At the meeting, Dr. Cao Duc Phat said: Ninh Thuan is known as a province with a lot of sunshine and wind, which has brought advantages to the province with many special products such as: grapes, apples, lamb, aloe vera. Currently, agriculture, farmers, rural areas, and the agricultural sector in the province have made great strides, the lives of farmers have been improved in all aspects, the appearance of the countryside has changed profoundly towards becoming more modern and civilized.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee further outlined the natural conditions and results of agricultural development in the province. He said that the province has favorable conditions to develop high-tech agriculture, circular agriculture and organic agriculture. However, the economic scale of the province is still small, so the scale of the agricultural sector and the policy mechanism to attract investment in agriculture are still difficult. There are many policies for the agricultural sector, but investment resources are reduced. In addition, the approach to multi-value agriculture is still limited. The province has basically overcome drought, but there is still no water transfer channel. He hopes that the working delegation will plan mechanisms and policies to support and attract investors to promote agricultural production in the province. At the same time, develop strategies and incentive policies to promote digital transformation in the agricultural sector in a sustainable manner.
