Lang Son Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2014/QD-UBND on approving the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Border Gate Expressway project under the BOT form.
The project passes through the districts of Chi Lang, Cao Loc, Van Lang and Lang Son city, with a total length of 59.87 km. Including: Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway, about 43.43 km long. The starting point is at Km1+800 connecting to the entrance road to Huu Nghi border gate (in Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district) the end point is at Km44+749.67 (in Mai Sao commune, Chi Lang district).
The route connecting Tan Thanh border gate and Coc Nam border gate, about 16.44km long, includes 2 sections. Section 1: Starting point Km0+000 intersects with Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway, ending point Km14+353 at the intersection between National Highway 4A and the road to Tan Thanh border gate, about 14.56km long. Section 2: Starting point Km0+000 (at IC.07 intersection Km7+500 between the route connecting Tan Thanh border gate and Coc Nam border gate with the road to Coc Nam border gate area), ending point Km1+875 at the intersection between National Highway 4A and the road to Coc Nam border gate area, about 1.88km long.
The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway is designed with a speed of 100km/h; the route connecting Tan Thanh border gate and Coc Nam border gate is designed with a speed of 80km/h. On the route, there are 7 intersections, 68 civil tunnels, 39 bridges, and 5 toll stations. According to the plan, this expressway will be completed and put into operation in 2026.
The total land use area of the project is expected to be 640.28 hectares (about 166.47 hectares in Chi Lang district, about 297.55 hectares in Cao Loc district; about 69.83 hectares in Van Lang district; about 106.43 hectares in Lang Son city).
The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway project was invested in and built to complete the synchronous and modern traffic infrastructure, connecting with the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway, which has been approved by the Prime Minister in principle for investment and the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee has approved the project, meeting the transportation needs of Lang Son province in particular, the Northeast region and the whole country in general.
The completed route will be an important bridge of the Nanning - Lang Son - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic corridor, aiming to create a trans-Asian economic corridor, creating advantages for Vietnam to be a gateway for trade exchange with China and the Southeast Asian region, contributing to linking and rapidly developing key economic sectors of Lang Son province, creating momentum for Lang Son province to develop its economy - society quickly, sustainably and become one of the growth poles, the economic center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
